I wanted to know if anyone thought that it was worth spending the money on the OnStar beyond the free month trial. I purchased a new C8 Corvette (this is my third vet) and I have never extended beyond my free month trial. Is it worth it or am I missing something? Appreciate your feedback.Thank you

Look at the services and see if you would like any of them. Most around here will say, "I haven't had it for 30 year so I don't need it now". It's 100% personal preference. You can call them and get them to come down on the price a bunch. Buy a month or two and see if you think it's worth it. You can always cancel it anytime.

OnStar is terrific. Have used it often on this C8 and previous generations.

Canceled all of mine and don't miss it. However, maybe it will work for you.

**Please disregard my post below. It was meant for the XM Radio subscription. No, I did not go past the Onstar trial periods for my vehicles. My apologies.

I actually like it. I've been a subscriber for years on all my vehicles. I find it more convenient than having to use my phone. Try it for the trial period to see if you like it. I believe it also includes the internet version that you can access via your phone and pc. Be sure to negotiate just before your subscription ends to get their lowest price of $6.00/month, if you agree to prepay for the yearly pricing versus monthly. Just remember to renegotiate the subscription at least 1 week before your current one expires. Otherwise, it will automatically go up when your negotiated subscription ends.

I find my iPhone satisfies all of my needs and have declined all OnStar offers.

I renewed mine, but selected the $25/mo Connected Car plan which keeps the WiFi hotspot active (unlimited data), the MyChevrolet phone app fully functional, all the in-dash apps (I like the Weather Channel one along with being able to pay for gas), and most importantly the live weather & traffic updates for the navigation system.

A technology marvel maybe 40 years ago. CarPlay, cell phone, a fob and car insurance is good enough for most people.

Never have extended OnStar past the intro period. There obviously could be a time when their services would be a welcome addition, but I have not run into that situation yet.

I recently called to cancel before my extended trial was up. Told them I didn't want it and that IF if decided to continue it, I didn't know which plan I would want. The girl I got was nice and said "Why don't you think about for another couple of months and let us know". She extended my free trial for another couple of months. I will prob just get the cheapest plan at a reduced rate. I've read they'll offer you a lower rate if you ask nicely.

I dropped SiriusXM because I tired of playing their games every 6/12 months to get the best rate.

Default Too and Too

Both On Star and satellite radio are too much money for too little utility. You'll get a no credit card required free 30 days of On Star. And a free 90 days of Sirius Radio. And then adios and good bye.

I pay the equivalent of $5 a month for SiriusXM, and can use it in my C8, phone, Amazon Alexa and computer. I can download shows, and they are commercial free. All music is commercial free.

I pay $10 a month for Onstar Traffic and Apps. I like having the traffic data on my C8's navigation screen without fiddling with my phone..
