I went to the grocery store yesterday morning and looked in the Toilet Paper isle. All brands and sizes were gone! WTF???? Is there some reason why people need a 2 month supply for a little 2 day snow / Ice weather?

More frequent evacuation. If you slip and fall on the ice, you don't want to poop. Best to go out empty.

Ready. S'posed to start snowing at 1 today, accumulate 3-6 inches snow, turn to rain or freezing rain. The trusty, old John Deere 455 Diesel with all wheel steer and 48 in snow blower is ready to go. Seasonal-toy box.

Great thread. There was a thread earlier this week about something else and several people from the great white North were making fun of people in the South for not being able to drive in these storms.

Our weather event in NW Georgia started about 9PM last night with 35-45MPH winds with gusts up to 65MPH. It was literally howling all night long. It also started raining. It's been snowing here for the last two hours and isn't expected to stop for the next 5-7 hours. The temps are already dropping - it's 34 degrees here now - so that means black ice on the roads. It also means tree limbs can start snapping taking power lines down with them. There are already some areas NE of my house where the LEOs have closed the roads due to black ice.

My wife and I built a house last winter in a rural area where the utilities aren't buried. I had a Generac installed as a part of the build that will power the main level of our house, the well pump, the mechanical room, and my home theater. So far we haven't used it......yet.

I installed a mini-split. 65 degrees in my garage, a place to hang out, watch football, have a drink and look at my cool cars!

I just park on top the snow in the driveway, why shovel when it will eventually melt.

shovel snow? Just drive on or through it. It's why we all have 4x4 here for winter vehicles. Used to have a 9 kw portable but got tired of moving it. Now 14 kw generac. Power out? Turn on all the lights so the neighbors can see.

@GTS Bruce ONLY 14kw? Ahh, the “base” model. Our GENERAC is the 17 kw, the Z06 of GENERACs. No replacement for displacement, or voltage, or whatever….

Nope, The Bora I sold to a private museum collection after owning for 25 years. Car was just to rare and in perfect condition. Couldn't bare and thought of someone hitting it. So I sent it own to be appreciated by those who like seeing one. Two Merak SS's one I sold own off, getting ready to restore the other sitting in my building <if i can find some time>. The Bora did hit the auction circuit for a time which can still be found. Maserati Bora 762.

Stupid thing, I sold the car to protect it. miss it to much and looking for another.
