I can't recall ANY previous Corvette series having the trials and tribulations of this one. This series may eventually be "legendary" for the wrong reasons.
The more automated and "sophisticated" cars get the more gremlins will show up. Plus, our world is more connected and "informed" now because of the internet. I hear folks talking about the good old days when cars were built tough and that's just day dreaming. I drove a stock 57 Chevy the other day and I can't believe I survived my teen years driving one with a hopped up engine and drum brakes. OMG doesn't even begin to describe it.
i know exactly what you mean , My wife’s 68 camaro, does have old school disc brakes in the front , drum rear. Handles like a boat, but looks amazing. And is pretty much original, other than being cammed, but light years different from my 2017 Grand sport, C8 on the way .

Not since 1970 when the 1969 strike caused 1969 to go longer in production. It cut 1970 numbers way down. While I don't necessarily believe in curses, this generation has definitely had enough turmoil to consider believing it is cursed (strike, pandemic, shutdowns, parts shortages, foul weather, and now another strike possibly happening).

Ugh, that'll be the worst. All that torque, available instantly? With that throttle response? The worst. Not to mention a low center of gravity, yeah its gonna really suck.

Really? Not even close. The C4 was a disaster! Had 6. Transmissions, electronic AC controllers, Bose amps, EGR valves, liquid crystal dash, power seat motors, Cross fire injection.
I'd suggest you do a little snooping around from at least the C5 Forums onward. None from there on have escaped their issues. All such are "amplified" by outlets like the Forums. However, that doesn't mean the C8 doesn't have its own issues, and perhaps more than its share. Besides, being a 'puter-on-wheels is no excuse... for anything. Indeed, if anything it should self-justify by minimizing such crappola.

Yes, its just amazing how they can't even give them away isn't it. I have to wonder if GM will survive the decisions that got them here. The poor dears are now foolishly trying to release the Z06 in 2023 with no buyers waiting at all.
Buy Ford stock!
PS. The OP is "TBIRD 57" on a Corvette Forum....so he probably missed the 57 Fuelie being better than the F product too...

They’re talking about reliability and electrical gremlins, not cliche EV sales pitches.
Could be maybe….. don’t think op is referring to the car per say but all the events outside of the car. The virus, supply issues, tornadoes, one maybe another strike, high demand, and price adders.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
