Anyone have any recommendations, and why would you choose them, of who to use for shipping enclosed from Western NY to Central Va ? Probably in early Feb. Thanks
I wound up Dan from New England Haulers (located in Rhode Island - 401-996-1254 that was recommended by a senior forum member
They did an amazing job - they had race ramps to use for lower clearance cars - and was priced about 40% less than other quotes I got
I contacted them on a Friday and they picked up the car in Boston Weds and delivered it Thurs to Pa. I would highly recommend them. They were very professional and communication was perfect.
I also really liked how my car was the only car on the enclosed carrier... It made it feel like a true concierge service
I would not hesitate to use them again... They said they would service along the east coast and go out to Michigan (possibly further but that was the furthest west state I could think of when I was talking to him lol).
Good luck!
Here's the thread of my original inquiry/post on transporters
I have shipped several Corvettes from the midwest to the west coast. All have been good except one. They tried to pick up the car, tried to load it, and said it would not fit onto their truck. They actually made a big dent and scratch in the rear bumper panel, then left.
Fortunately I had pictures of the car from the seller. They found another shipper that delivered the car to me. That truck driver saw the dent and took pictures before he loaded the car. Lesson learned: take plenty of pictures before and after shipping.
I quick search here and on the C7 forum will confirm that Intercity Transport is the enclosed transporter of choice. They take the worry out of auto transport with their great attention to detail and constant communication. I recommend staying away from brokers as you lose all control over who is actually transporting your vehicle. You are basically rolling the dice as to whether you get a good reliable carrier or one that is clueless. The good auto transporters don't need brokers to find them jobs.
