You actually use the on board navigation system? Waze with wireless carplay seems to make that a dinosaur
I'm in the "soon to order" stage, so don't have a C8 yet. For clarity, does Waze, via CarPlay, use the Nav screen and speaker to convey the info from Waze? So, once you're going, you turn down the volume on your phone (so you don't hear commands from two devices) and all is good? Is there any direct interaction between the Nav Screen and Waze (on your phone)? i.e. can you manipulate Waze from the Nav Screen? If so, that's a great capability.

While displaying the map view, select the three dots (...) to display options, select Map Colors. Choices are:

change modes based on lighting

wireless carplay lets you see essentially your iphone screen on the monitor- your phone is passive in that it can sit in your pocket and you need not interact with it at all. Yes the touch screen acts like your iphone

Since we are discussing the touchscreen... What are people using to clean the fingerprints? I have an antibacterial XPel screen cover coming, which should make it much easier to wipe down, but I need to maintain it until then.
Waze and Google maps work good, but if you live where we do, there are many deadspots where you lose cell signals. Beyond that Android Auto doesnt fully interface to the car as well as GM nav. Also beware, if you do not have unlimited data plan, you will chew up packets fast. At 5 hrs on a trip, I started getting warning messages. Heads up will not display directions, etc. I still prefer the on board nav. I use both at times, but still like the built in package.
Frankly, I really like the onboard nav. Voice recognition works well and I don't have to worry about my having cell service. (My area has a lot of dead zones for all carriers.) FWIW, I keep the screen on dark mode all the time. To my old eyes it is less distracting.

As with the wife's BMW NAV, the display in HUD as you approach a turn or complex highway interchange makes it worth using. Agree the BMW is a better system and updates free but the C8 system is pretty good.
Honestly never used it. It shows up in HUD? I really need waze in communist NYC as we have such prolific speed camera intrusion and it is quite accurate in their locations

Understand where you live. Frankly as most of my C8 driving is local and waze is useless in our rural area. When I do need NAV (mostly use the wife's BMW SUV for long trips but the C8 is the same,) when coming to a complex highway exit the pic if the roads with arrows is a big help. Also, the reminder with distance to a tun, no need to take my eyes off the road!
