Thanks, picked up my jack from storage and an orange hockey puck from Dick's. And turns out the shop's solution to my too dark tint was to send me to a different inspection station that would pass me rather than fix the problem.
Pretty lame when I paid them over $4K not to take responsibility for $400 worth of the job we had in writing. "Massachusetts legal tint". They did such an amazing job at everything other than the taking responsibility of their screw up (they outsourced and apparently weren't clear with the tinter and I think he used 35% plus factory tint = illegal).
So now I have to dispute the charge and have somewhere else re-do the tinting.

Yes, I remove them. I see no point in leaving pucks in. I know of two instances where 'leave-in pucks' have flown out and damaged sides of C7s. As you I keep mine in a bag in the truck.

I have a shop that will pass it with the tint as is, but the RMV requires them to jack up the car for some reason and the rmv also has cameras and mics at all inspection stations to make sure that happens.

they have the crappiest low profile jack ever. Very deep rusty cup. I just went home and put the jack pucks on my car but they only come maybe 5mm below the 5VM side skirt. That rusty jack will destroy stuff. Should I just grab a bunch of different depth hockey puck type things (dunno if that exists)? Basically something thick enough that when placed in the jack cup it will contact my lift pads before the metal cup contacts the car is what I'm thinking. I also thought 2x4 but don't think the jack will fit under the car going that route. I can also stop at a pep boys or harbor freight and pick up something.
Yep I have the equivalent of 5VM shirts. I found my 1 inch high jack pads worked fine when I installed using the long reach low profile (very heavy, 95 lb) Jack. I also have 2 inch that are useful if I use my light, low lift jack to gain that extra inch!

Here are some pics of my Jack Pads and jacks with some pro and cons. You can pick which fits best for you.

First the Jack MUST move into the car as it's rased OR the jck saddle can slip off the car frame. The Jack Pad and Jack Saddle depth can help pull it in.

I have several sets of Jack Pads. Have 4 of these plastic ones by Reverse Logic in my tool bag in the Frunk. The Chevy Tech at the dealer uses them!

Also have 1" high aluminum jack pads from KaTech

When using my light weight short lift jack to remove a wheel used my 2 inch high aluminum Jack Pads by KaTech to be sure I cleared. I did but only by about an inch!
