Interesting, SW update N21-235187 just got installed on my 2022, seems like I'm way behind on updates.

I just got an update that took only 5 minutes for my 2020, but didn't see what it was for. Completed with no issues.

Is there a logic behind software updates, who gets them and who don't? What is the latest SW update? I haven't seen a thread about this.

I just received SW update N21-235187 (on a 2022 C8 built Sept' 2021). This makes N21-24964 the latest update.

My '22 was built 12/21/21 and I get the cell phone message when phone is left in holder. Must have left BG with latest updates because I haven't had any since taking delivery.

re: logic Doesn't seem to be, except that I believe GM rolls them out gradually, so they don't have 20,000 cars all hitting the update server at the same time.

See post 5 for what the latest update includes.

I recently received an update about something to do with the charging system so as to make it more fuel efficient (didn't write the number down). It only took about 5 minutes to update. Mine is a November 2021 build date.

Well I just got my first message alerting me to an update required. I hit "remind me later" and I plan to do it tomorrow. It said the car has to sit for 15 minutes and turned off. Has anyone had any issues doing it inside their garage? Should I roll it out into the driveway for a clear signal?

Installed the update on my 2020 just outside my garage. Not sure if it's using wifi from the house, or the 4G LTE signal, but it worked!

Do us a favor please. If it is update # N2124964:0.0.0.0, before you select install look at the “Details” , a button next to the update title. Let us know what it says. It should say what the update is about / does. Thanks in advance! Ed

Software updates are usually done in 2 stages, Download and Update. You shouldn't need to connect to anything during the update once the update is already downloaded.
But I don't know for sure how GM does it.
