Speaker upgrade
I'm wondering what it would take to replace the two 10" subs in the doors with something better and if it would require a separate amp to power them.
Compared to the Bose system in my 2005 C6, the 14-speaker Bose system in my C8 is outstanding! Bass is very strong. But everything is relative.
I was ready to buy when I realized that 90% of the time, I am not watching movies, but listening to music. I went home and copied some favorite songs (with heavy bass) onto a CD and went back to the store. Wow, what a shocker, the Bose system had no bottom end,
The sales guys then started pointing me to other brands of speakers, sub bass with amp etc. I ended up not buying the Bose system and never regretted that. My impression; the Bose systems are good and sound OK for an OEM car system, but if you can tell the difference, and really want quality sound, there are much better systems out there, for the same price or less. Sound is very subjective. The C8 comes with Bose, OK I will probably live with it because it is just too difficult and expensive to make changes to a factory system.
I was very disappointed with the 3LT 14 speaker system. No depth or ambience in the mids or highs. 6 K but worth every penny.
Guess if you listen to whatever with the car stopped could. But who does that and why bother unless to justify the expense and effort
No way does whatever compare to the new 60 million+ $ performing arts canter in town! Installed many base systems in cars and have a sound wall in the rear of the ProSteet Sedan (with set back 8.2 Liter BB no room for rear seat so have filled with speakers and amps.) Looks nice at car shows!
C8 sound systems plays as soon as I start the car to drown out road and tire noise. Sounds great for the purpose 😁
Looks good at Car Shows!

And I can't hear much (if any) road/wind noise, and I still haven't even treated my headliner yet. But you do you boo-boo.

Built my 1st "Performance Car" when in High School. Stuffed in an Olds engine I had bored 1/8 inches for '56 pistons. That or a Caddy were the engine of choice in the mid/late '50s! Pic from school paper.
Pic of my C8 "Performance Option" Z51 (with MRC) week one when I was installing Carbotech 1521 low dust pads. I had installed those on my 2014 Z51 and 2017 Grand Sport.
Oh yea, when I retired in 2000 (well semi, still have a part time internet business) it has an 8.2 Liter BB (I assembled from some 30 boxes that came in a wood crate) set back in a ridged TCI chassis with 420 section Mickey Thomspons. 53% weight of its 3000 lb weight on the Currie 9" Ford rear, wheels.
Yep with setback engine left no room for a rear seat so built a sound wall to "Look Good at car shows!" The volume of subwoofer enclosure is based on a 400-page book I had from the early 1960's on building "HI Fi" speaker enclosures (as it was referred to back in the day!) Yep lots of math (my favorite subject) and tables! Sound science was very good even back then!
Interior Shop did a great job from the "nothing" interior I delivered!

Foolish statement. No one has a C8 Z06! I will get the E-Ray ASAP but expect it like the C8 Z06 will be like hens' teeth, very hard to get! BTW, the Z51 has 21% & 25% stiffer springs and stiffer sway bar than the BASE C8. It also has larger brakes with Track ready pads (that produce lots of dust.) That is why I installed low dust street pads as my driving is aggressive BUT only street driven.
The Z51 includes an extra coolant rad for the DCT in the passenger side vent, performance summer only tires and eLSD versus the Base C8 that has 1960's postreaction. Big difference!
Perhaps you have a C8 Z06 in your mind! Suggest you brush up on what the C8 Z51 includes!
My C8 is significantly faster 0 to 60 than my prior M7 C7 Grand Sport and it was one of the fastest Vettes GM built. Good enough for me!
Hard to understand the eSLD versus the 1960's Posi in the BASE C8: This will help, it's a summary of Tadge's very long Forum Post (included in full in the appendix with links to videos.) BUT the summary I prepared is easier to understand! http://netwelding.com/eLSD_VS_Posi.pdf
BTW from Tadg's post the base C8 Posi can lock the slipping wheel with max 88 ft-bs of torque, not a lot. The eSLD does NOT need a slipping wheel to work and can lock either wheel with ~1400 ft-lbs depending on what the computer says is needed for that transient maneuver or just going down the road. Yep it works all the time! Z51 owners can watch on the center screen!

Also, ZO6's are being delivered if you look. EH got hers already, others are taking delivery.
Looked at your car pic in your profile DUDE! eSLD was not on C6 or prior Vettes. Looks like you have 1960's posi!
Look up some info on the C8, which you obviously don't have! There is the BASE car and the Z51 with the Performance options (I have shown quantified) that are included. Yep 21%/25% stiffer springs and sway bar, larger brakes, performance tires, extra coolant rad and eLSD are just base stuff!

My posted info says NOTHING about having a Base C8! Yep Rick Hendrick has his 3.6 million $ Z06 also but not many more!

I'm sure your C6 sounds fine when the car is stopped! I'll continue to listen at the new Preforming Arts Center in town for quality sound! Recently toured with my local ASME Section!

Interesting acoustical design features!
