I know it is not a C8, but the Nav system in my C7 has worked very well since I did a map update back in 2019. The only complaint I have is that the estimated arrival time is initially off (sometimes by quite a bit) but it does adjust as the trip proceeds. My Garmin Nuvi does get an ETA that is more realistic right from the start.
I have yet to find a way to navigate anywhere using the stock nav system without entering an address.
There are plenty of times I want to go somewhere that doesn't even have an address.
Most navs I've used will allow you to zoom in on an area, touch a point and then will ask if you want to go there.
Some will let you do it while in motion, some won't.
Is there any way this nav system will allow navigation without entering an address?
This is one of the worst Navigation systems ever. Same one was on my C6 GS. Why GM (and almost all other car manufacturers) can't buy one from someone like Garmin or Google I do not understand. Most in car systems are terrible, but at least my Chrysler Pacifica I can talk to and most of the time it works. For my Corvette I have to use my phone in Google Mags, find the location and then use it to input the info into my C8. Really stupid. A couple of times my C8 could not locate the location so I actually had to use my phone and Google Maps to get there.
