Looks like a push-fastener may go there. These are usually laid out symmetrically, so check the other side and see if there is one

Here's a pic of mine for comparison. The C8 is completely covered on the bottom side to help with aero. Your car is missing the close out panel. My car ia a 2020 but I don't think they changed it. One can not see the casting or rear sway bar without removing this panel. Hope this helps. I would ask the dealer to order you the missing piece and any ancillary hardware that attaches it. Good luck!

Good observation! Looks like he's missing what GM calls a shear plate as it functions structurally as well as an aero panel.

It gets removed to install the DCT filter!

No sir, his shear plate can been seen in his pics, forward of the rear sway bar. He is simply missing the plastic panel between the shear plate and the rear diffuser.

Mine is 22 coupes has only 600 miles
Look at your picture you sent out; it means mine is missing the panel cover. Does anyone know the part# for that? and will the GM cover for it< or I have to pay for it.
Here is some pic. of underneath of the car.

They will (should) cover! Your car is missing a part! Not your fault! Let the dealer find and get the part and all fasteners.

It should be covered under warranty. Check with your dealer and they should be able to locate the part number and hardware for you. It's clearly missing from your car. Have a talk with the service manager and get with their parts manager to identify the missing items.

OMG!!!! Those lazy *** SOB's didn't put your plate back on!!! I mean, c'mon... it's not like it's a small piece that could be lost so easily. It's a big plate! No excuse for the moron tech. And it begs the question, what else did he/she miss or forget to do?

This should be the way things happen. Good luck with your dealership.

Thought it might have occurred when he had a DCT filer change BUT it's a 2022, so unlikely that has been done. No other reason to mess with those panels.

'22's have been on the road since last September. I am sure that plenty of them have had the DCT filter changed at 7,500 miles.

The OP is NOT missing his "Shear Plate". One can clearly see in his pics that it is ON the car. The missing panel in question is simply a small plastic, close out panel behind the shear plate that can stay in place when the shear panel is removed. It's possible it never was on the car to begin with. When servicing the DCT filter the missing panel does not need to be removed to take off the shear plate. The missing panel extends from the trailing edge of the shear plate to the leading edge of the lower diffuser and is made of plastic. It's not a major thing to worry about but it should be in place to complete the transition of air flow under the car. Sorry Bob, didn't mean to quote you....fat fingered by mistake...

Here's another picture. As one can see, the shear plate is forward of the (missing) close out cover. When this cover is removed, one has access to the rear sway bar and lower control arm eccentrics when alignment settings need to be adjusted.

UPDATE MISSING BOLT AND REAR PANEL
Bring the car in for install the rear deflector panel (PN# 23296628) was missing from beginning at locate Chevrolet dealer. It's cost me $180 include part and labor. I did ask one person at service department why I have to pay for it? and my car still under manufacturing guarantee then she told me because I did not buy the car from them, and they are not responding any missing part, and tell me I need go back to dealer I get the car from and ask them for reimburse. I did get the car from MM dealer in NH and courtesy delivery to CA
Just wonder it's ever happened to anyone like that

panel has been install

One of the issues with Courtesy Delivery, MM can't do anything and why it's critical for you to talk with the Courtesy Delivery Dealer BEFORE YOU accept they will treat you right when the car arrives. MacMulkin doesn't have "Courtesy Delivery Dealers" they just recommend. The Corvette Sales Leader, Ciocca requires YOU to check out the Courtesy Delivery Dealer YOU pic. They understand they can do nothing once it gets to the CD dealer YOU PICKED!

My preference is to find a local dealer where you talked with the Service Manager to be sure they will handle any possible delivery or warranty issues. I found a small Chevy dealer 30 miles from my home who does just that. Only charged $350 for each. Bought my 2017 Grand Sport and C8 from Kerbeck (now Ciocca) and the Courtesy Delivery Dealer I PICKED does just that. They now get my aftersales service versus the very large Chevy Dealer in town.

I'd contact MM or Chevrolet Customer Service to see if they can help you. You shouldn't have to pay for it. Also, that panel doesn't look like it is sitting flush with the mating panel. Perhaps that is why it wasn't on in the first place.
