Default Pollen

Just detailed my car yesterday and came out this afternoon to give the wheels a second coat of wax and final buff the body. To my surprise the car had a nice coat of pollen all over. Beautiful green tint red mist. Close to HGM. Yes, it has been inside the garage. Oh well not gonna wash her for a while as it’s of no use. @Bird67

Funny our pollen was over a month ago. BUT it lasted over a month. I learned with my 1st Vette, a 1988 never take the top off during pollen season.. We have lots of pine trees and it's yellow all over.

Didn't have a significant issue wit my 5 FE Vettes but sure do with the C8. The engine and compartment are covered. The stuff is sticky as well. When it stopped falling I washed the car AND engine. Used soapy water and a mitt. Did not use the hose soaper I use on the body BUT did rinse with a slow stream of water. Blew it mostly dry with a battery power leaf blower.

@Corvette03051 the worst thing about the pollen is that the individual bits are pretty coarse like sandpaper!

Bird that’s good to know so the famous California Duster would be a mistake during pollen season? Funny what you learn if you ask?

No surprise as we in NH are definitely at least a month behind. Clouds of pollen in the air here.

Yes, I only use my California Duster for interior dust / lint (non-abrasive for the most part) from sitting in the garage after car has been washed, never after it's been outside and has outside dust/pollen on finish which is very abrasive for the most part.

I think the reference to
the pollen having edges would mean the paint scratches no matter what you use. I’m just gonna wash and wash again haha 😜

The pollen in MA is brutal right now. I've been washing my car every weekend, not much point now,it's yellow the next day. Not sure how the heck to get it all out of the interior. May try the leaf blower that I use when I wash

I do see plenty of guys using them but pollen season is short and scratches are long and mean a buff so
I’ll wash. Better to be cautious.

Never will get it all out of the interior. Bought my 1st Vette, a 1988. With the roof off recall telling my neighbor as I drove past as he was working in the yard. Said I found nervana! It's driving a Red Corvette with the roof off playing Janis Joplin singing Cry Baby! (BTW he bought a Vette but had to sell it as he got too many tickets!)

I'm sure if that car is still living, the owner is saying what is this yellow stuff on the carpets, behind the seats, deck etc! Nope don't remove my roof during pine pollen season!

I keep my C8 in a 30X30 metal building that is detached from the house. Our heavy pollen season in Georgia is pretty much over but I never had an issue with the pollen and I did drive the car a lot during the pollen months - usually the end of March until the end of May. My car is ceramic coated so I wonder if that helped.

Don’t think so because there is nothing in ceramic to repel pollen? Maybe it blows off when you drive. It’s certainly not going to avoid your car when it sees the ceramic 😂 however your car is very slippery so maybe there is something to the wind blowing it off theory
