Good luck in sourcing a new A/C compressor. Hopefully the GM rep can work some magic and get you the part so you can enjoy your car in this heat wave going on right now.
Follow the procedure in the Owner’s Manual, pages 307 - 308. You’ve already performed Step #1, Step #2 states to call the Chevrolet Customer Assistance Center at 1-800-222-1020. Have your VIN number ready.

I’m pleased to report that after a day of bitching to Chevrolet hotline and requesting assistance from Service Manager, compressor is being shipped over night and I have appointment next week to have it fixed. I’m not sure how they all of a sudden produced a compressor over night, a day ago they were telling me it was on back order with no ETA. Thanks for the helpful suggestions, I’m pleased GM came through after a little push.
Hmm, IMO, you can apply all the grease you'd like but don't get frustrated. You'll get it fixed when GM sends dealer a new compressor! Grease (and probably threats) has not helped GM get simple 1960's postreaction so that can fill orders for none Z51 C8s!

Not sure what your trying to say here, but I was getting no where until I politely but firmly expressed my disappointment in buying a $90,000 car and not having AC for several months. I don’t think it was coincidental that after I pushed a little and called both GM and the dealer management that the next day a compressor was on its way.
Same thing happened to my 2022 C8.R. Car has been out of commission without AC for over a month now. GM supply shortage, supply chain issues, blah blah blah. Good thing is that I have a loaner vehicle, and my Vette is in MY garage, not sitting outside at a dealership. Who knows when we'll get our AC. Could be months, maybe only a few weeks, who knows.

The OP (and others) have paved the way to get it fixed. Take the advice IN THIS THREAD
Just got the latest on mine. The dealership here in Austin placed a **** order, which evidently makes you top priority. They think it should be here within a few weeks. Fingers crossed!

Nice to see someone is paying attention. Hopefully it's not just lip service....good luck!
Actually, completely legit. They responded, created a case number, and my compressor magically appeared! No BS. Just dropped my car off at the dealer about a half hour ago. Anyone else has issues, I'd recommend shooting them an email.
Within 24 hours of contacting the email below, my car was returned/repaired after 1 month at the dealership. Amazing how my AC compressor just, like someone else said earlier in this thread, "Magically Appeared!"
I have a 2021 C8 HTC, and the AC stopped working, so I took it to Earnhardt Chevrolet here in Chandler, Arizona. Same thing, the service specialist said it was the AC compressor that exploded and that the compressor is on back order and he has no ETA at all. I have been without my C8 for 2 weeks. Here in AZ it's 115 degrees and the car is unusable without a functioning AC. This is my daily driver vehicle and I had to cancel and reschedule multiple surgeries for my patients since I just could not make it in time across town hitching a ride in between clinics. This is my dream car as well and I had them spec it right, with all the options it cost me $125K + Tax and then aftermarket ceramic, entire body clear bra etc... I added about $15-16K to that. I went to school almost my entire life to be able to buy one. Now that I bought one, I can't enjoy it and it makes me question GM quality and customer service. One of my neighbors knows the owner of GM well, and I hate asking for favors, but it may be my only chance to get my car back with a working AC soon-ish. Now the C8 will be cooking for god knows how long on their parking lot. I doubt they will even let me store the C8 in my own garage while this part comes in (but I will ask tomorrow). I am on call for multiple hospitals here and I have to defer treatment to other doctors since I can not make it there. This is the first time I have to say no, when the hospitals call me for help.
Thanks, I did. Hopefully, they actually do something about it. The service tech seems like he is really against me taking the car back. This heat and dust storms... Im not a big fan of it staying on a parking lot.
Depression is kicking in. Update: I emailed the link. They responded "the part is in the shop". Dealership says it's not there. So, they are replacing the belt and radio because of recommendations by Chevy and those parts are in LOL. No issues with the radio or the belt. They assured me they won't take the dash apart. They said the radio is a unit under the glove box passenger side. I'm thinking that's the amplifier?
Anyway, I emailed GM back and said the part that was requested weeks ago is not there (AC Compressor GM part#86808040). Crickets....
Also, the dealership will not release the car back to me, so I can store it in my covered fully AC'd garage while they get this part in the nex few years? Guess what's happening to that interior/dash, and seats cooking at 115 degrees for weeks there....
I bet new potential C8 buyers are looking at these problems here on the forum. They will lose potential buyers if they don't fix their customer service.
