I chose to use zip ties this way It can they can be easily removed when going in for service ( just in case ) since I was reading online that it can void your warranty since it's not an OEM Chevy part. I was a little worried about overheating since they do need air for trans to run cool but in hot 92 degree weather normal city drivung no interstate my trans temp stayed between 165-170. Not sure at what temp it runs without them since my car had 17 an di never looked.

miles when installed.
Looks great!

This is one of the first things I'm going to install after I get mine!

@c8_23 - my dealer installed my Paragon grill guards during PDI before I picked up my C8. I'm not worried about them voiding my warranty.

This is what Tadge said before the GM "approved" screens were on the market! - "If you don't live in a real hot weather environment and don't track your car and you'd like the additional protection... it would be acceptable." If you have radiator grill guards installed and your car experiences overheating "It wont be on GM."

Know some get concerned but logic and persistence can get a lot of issues covered!
For example I showed the hole in my AC Condenser in my C6. Dealer Service Manager said GM won't cover as "probably caused by a rock." Got the old AC Condenser back and was able to show IT WAS NOT caused by a rock. It was dinged before being installed as it was bent! that dinged spot became a hole with vibration in use. Made a short report, Service Manager gave to his area GM Service Rep and got the full $800 back!

My first new car, a 1967 Corvair had a cracked pressure plate in ~ 6 months. Clutches not covered. I looked at the cracked surface and there was an obvious defect. Service Manager said we'll have to wait for the GM Serve Rep to visit and see if he will approve after looking at the perfect flywheel and clutch disk. He did!

BUT one of an most proud of getting covered was a Datsun 260Z differential which cost me (in 2002 $s ~$6000) to have replaced. I paid and after several months prepared a report with metallographic high-res pics made in our metallurgical LAB. Finally got it all back!

Here are some pics that summarize what happened. Bottom Line can't just take the 1st, not covered as gospel!

On my way to work, while downshifting as I turned into my favorite 270 entrance ramp to RT 11 in OH. heard a bad sound. Stopped and there was a hole in the dif case, and the fluid was on the ground! Dealer installed a new dif but no way was that a warranty issue. (Note pics not my dif.)

Took the old dif home and opened the cover, which dealer did not do. It looked perfect, no abusive wear! However, a bolt had worked lose, the head sheared when it hit the case and blew a hole in the case cover! I had bought the service manual and it had an interesting statement. It said IF the dif cover is off, check to see that the ring bolt locking clips are bent in place! Hmm, to remove the cover had to drop the dif AND there was no maintenance requirement to ever have the cover off! They knew there was an issue!

Deater was no help. Wrote a report to Datsun USA with a macrograph pic of bolt surface showing it was a ductile failure and the cause was the lock plate was not properly bent in manufacture. I quoted the service manual statement. No satisfaction. Had a Japanese Lab Division Head in our Lab and asked him to write a cover letter to the report to Nissan CEO in Japan! He put on a handwritten cover note in Japanese and we said, they were "lucky no one was hurt!" Got my money back!
