Every time I start the vehicle the music comes on and blasts at full volume for 2-3 seconds then reverts to normal volume. This happens even if I have the audio muted when I shut the vehicle off. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?
I don't use the music much so I don't know, but mine does not do that. I see the ability to set the maximum mentioned above. Is the volume setting part of the driver memory? Try turning the volume all the way down and then setting it using memory. I did not have time to check it first before suggesting this.
Volume isn't part of driver memory. You can't just turn off the audio system as on most cars. If you hold the volume button in for ~ 5 seconds it turns off the entire infotainment system. No maps, no Android Auto, no nothin'.
And it ignores both the volume you had set when you turned the car off, and the mute setting. The "startup" volume setting is the only way to control that. Really stupid design if you ask me.
Now then, if you have the startup volume set low, and it STILL comes on full blast, you have a defective head unit or amp.
It seems the problem was being caused by a thumb drive I had plugged into the USB port. It was an ordinary thumb drive that I had several music mp3's on. Once I unplugged it the issue stopped. Apparently when I started the car it was playing a random music file from the thumb drive for about 2 seconds at full volume and then reverted back to the last radio station I had on at normal volume. I'm not sure why it would do this but kind of inconvenient having to remember to unplug the USB drive every time after using it. Or I guess I can just cover my ears every time I start the car. Must be a software issue. I'll discuss with the dealer when I finally bring it in for service.
It's a new safety feature on all the 2023 Corvettes. It's to make sure the driver is fully awake when getting behind the wheel of this awesome performance machine.
But in my case if I have my iPhone connected (previously source so it reconnects to that same source when I start the car again) it plays normal volume for about 5 or less minutes then shift louder. It also changes “tone” much higher treble and, it seems to come more from the front. If I go to Audio settings and select another source, then reselect the iPhone it’s fine again.
