If your car was originally shipped to a dealer in a state that requires a front plate, it’s automatically included with the car. You don’t need to use it though. You can just remove the black panel in the center of the front fascia and attach a plate there (although you’ll need to bend it in the middle a bit)

I also live in NY. Son-in-law is a NYS Trouper. He said better to be safe than sorry and although I would more than likely get away with not having one in the county I live in, no guarantee in other NYS counties. He also said if police or troupers in other states want to give you a hard time since they know that states that require front plates, they can. I am buying the Stow N Show front plate holder. The bracket mounts using the existing screws that holds the front splitter in place. No drilling and the plate can be removed and reinstalled in about 15 seconds.

I’m in Va my dealer asked if I wanted it on the car said most don’t and left it off I’m not running the front plate no problems so far since January
