I don't disagree if clarity is not affected but i question whether or not it would save the lens from a rock strike large enough to break it. This happened to a friends ZR1, he debated all sorts of protection ideas and ended up replacing the camera and doing nothing else.
PPF is pretty amazing stuff. I've been using it for well over 20 years. Back then it was only 3M and not readily available, mostly used on RV's. All of my vehicles have it and it has prevented damage many times on the head, running and road lights. Inexpensive (you can stop by any installer, they would give you a scrap to use) and better than nothing at all....FWIW
and add a claim to the carfax and pay a deductible? I think I'd rather try my luck with the front camera part link that was posted earlier in the thread. Hopefully replacing the cameras can be done from under the bumper but if not I can see why dealers are charging 4 figures because of front bumper removal
It might hurt the clarity of the camera or, perhaps, cause some image distortion since you are changing the radius of the lens curvature.
My main worry about installing PPF there is the curvature; it should require lots of heat (from a heatgun), so I probably wouldn't test my luck. Anyway, I cracked the camera on another car right after leaving dealer, with all of 5 miles on the clock. The labor to remove was massive, and cost 4 figures, so left it broken during my ownership. I could still see curbs relatively well though. Those cell phone camera lens protectors made of glass is what I'd like to have, rather than PPF.
My driver side front camera got cracked as well. Got a quote for $700 from the dealer. Planning to install a new camera myself since I was able to snag the part for cheap.
Has anyone done this install yet? From what I can tell, it looks like I’ll have to remove the front bumper. I’ve seen videos of frunk/tub removals that would make the install easy but I’m not sure if the front cameras would be accessible that way.

Have you checked with your insurance company? I don't know who you're insured with or what your coverage is but I had a rock fly up and break the lens on a fog lamp on my truck and my company covered it under comprehensive so there was no deductible.
