My car is a non-Z51 Convertible C8, The issue is with the driver's door release sensor. At times the door will not open. I have use two methods to exit the car, 1st option, push the unlock button and then the door release button to exit, the other is to hit the door release button 3 - 4 times before the door will open. This can.t be normal as most of the time the door release works properly. Bad door release Sensor? ... any help will be appreciated.
Don't know if its your issue, but many have encountered a problem that is solved this way:
Be sure that you are pressing outward on the door (gently, but nonetheless pressing) before you start to push the door open button. If the button is pushed with no pressure on the door, the latch will partially release but the door will not open. If that is not what is going on with you, then you may have an actual defect.
Press and hold the release button as you push the door open.

I agree. I had the occasional door issue and I saw on a thread how to "properly" open the door, no more issues.
I do admit when it was suggested that the operator was the problem I didn't believe that was the problem.
