A good friend has a Tesla. They don't DD it but it gets the typical weekly use. Car is always ready with a full tank when they take it out. Never needs charging for the usual uses until it gets put back in the garage for the evening. They have tracked the electrical costs (before all of the inflation nonsense we're going through right now) and their electric usage for charging in their garage is (was) about $13/$16 per month.
Once electricity demand goes through the roof with all the EVs, that's when the utility companies will get everyone. Nothing like having a monopoly over the consumer. And, there will be very little choice. What will you do? Not drive?
