Keep in mind that NCM uses several carriers to underwrite their policies, including Hagerty. So if you got a policy from NCM and the carrier isn't Hagerty, then Hagerty either wasn't the cheapest option for you or they couldn't match your needs somehow..
Keep in mind cheap insurance is only good until you need it.
I called several high end body shops around the country to ask who they recommended as the best to work with - both as a consumer and for the body shop.
Everyone overwhelmingly said State Farm was the best. The lowest remarks were Farmers, Travelers, and of course the Geico and Progressive type insurance companies.
Good luck!
Bingo. I have used State Farm for years and they have always been competitive. Just bought a ‘14 so we’ll see Monday but when I asked about a similar car when I first started shopping and it was ~$800 per yr. 6000 mile estimated use with no other restrictions…..
I had and used Hagerty for many years without a problem (or a claim) but surprisingly their pricing was twice as much than NCM for our 2024 C8 Coupe. So then for ***** and giggles, I had them quote for our other classic vehicles and got the same much lower price result! So we switched everything over to NCM and so far so good. Again, I haven't filed a claim yet but the savings were too good to pass up. I think we made the right choice as some previous posters are stating claims with NCM were handled without incident...so we shall see.

Just be sure you know and understand the use restrictions for NCM insurance. You don't want any bad surprises down the road if you have a claim.

State Farm was and is the least competitive pricing, at least for me on the Corvette. I use them for my regular cars and they want 3k a year when NCM wants about 1k. I have renewed my NCM policy twice, each time checked with State Farm, and their pricing is ludicrous.
NCM offers even better insurance, being agreed upon value.
