I'm considering using NCM for insurance as my carrier is pretty expensive.
My car is going to be a weekend toy, going to wine country, taking the wife to dinner, cruises with friends, that kind of thing, though the coverage seems a bit strange. I've seen some chatter about how limited the coverage is for what you're doing. Anyone had any trouble with claims if they were going out to dinner or running errands in the car, with NCM? Their FAQ on coverage is a bit contradictory.
As long as you have more cars than people with a license in your household, I have no doubt they’re gonna be able to hook you up! Been with them for years!

You are ok, for that.
Basically, you have to stay under your annual agreed upon mileage, can't drive to work (unless you select the limited drive to work option) and you have to have another vehicle (daily driver) insured and registered as do other drivers in your family.

I checked Haggerty pricing for my last Corvette before my current thinking they would be competitively priced however they were almost double NCM for the same coverage.
I also thought the quote I received from NCM Insurance was a little pricey considering the restrictions. After comparing the rates with my current carrier, I was quoted a rate that was only $90 more a year for the same coverage and no restrictions. That was an easy decision for me and happy I won't have to worry about violating any restrictions.
Keep in mind NCM is the agent, while they can and do write from various insurance companies, I believe the majority are from American Modern, so you can go online and Google American Modern Insurance reviews and see what results you find. You can also buy American Modern from Heacock, or a lot of various sources, and compare to Grundy, Hagerty, etc.

I tried Hagerty, and I do have more cars than people, and it said it wouldn't take it. I assumed it was because it was a new car. I should try calling them.
I used NCM for my MR2, my previous Mustang and now my C8. I cross shopped NCM and Hagerty several times. NCM was always a much better deal and better coverage. Don’t use the online quote tool. It’s not at all accurate. Call them up and have a phone quote done. It’s fast and easy and the people there are great to talk to. They have multiple discounts you can get. I pay $560/yr for full coverage. In Florida where insurance costs are crazy high. The MR2 is $220/yr.
I use NCM for my 2023. American modern policy. Had one claim already. Windshield..no problem getting repaired. Rates reasonable.
Use Hagerty for my other collector cars. (4). No claims. Reasonable rates. Great service. Call for help. Agents are super. Hagerty club is worth 50 dollars per year.
I had a claim on my GTM when I had it insured with NCM (American Modern). They were excellent to deal with, gave me the full amount that my independent shop of my choice quoted, even though they had to do their own evaluation. But their investigator was fast, thorough, and nice to work with. He was a car guy too and treated me fairly and like a customer, not a penny pincher who was against me. I would not hesitate to use NCM again. I've used Haggerty and Grundy as well, although no claims with them.

The online quote was a few hundred dollars more than my actual quote, they ended up adding my spouse which actually decreased the price. Weird, but I'm all for it.
I used Hagerty for a declared value policy with unlimited miles. A friend of mine - retired claims adjuster for Allstate - who now works in a very good local body shop dealing with insurance companies on claims told me he went with Hagerty for his 1971 Trans Am because they were the easiest to deal with if he had a claim.
Mine is insured via NCM and I pay $780 a year with 6k mileage limit with the ability to drive to work a couple of days and enjoy when I want. I was expecting a lot more. No claims and hope to never so I can't help there...
I don't drive my C8 to work but do use it whenever I can to do grocery runs, trips to the hardware store, medical appointments, etc. My wife has her own car that she uses and I have other vehicles. NCM wouldn't insure my C8 since it is a daily driver.
Keep in mind cheap insurance is only good until you need it.
I called several high end body shops around the country to ask who they recommended as the best to work with - both as a consumer and for the body shop.
Everyone overwhelmingly said State Farm was the best. The lowest remarks were Farmers, Travelers, and of course the Geico and Progressive type insurance companies.

That is about exactly where I was at. But I just received my new premium today and it was up to $946.00. No explanation..
