Is there any "significant" difference between the dozens of jacking pucks on Amazon in the $35 range, and the Paragon (and other companies) pucks for $100 plus. Many of the Amazon ones are aluminum and are of similar size. Thanks.

I don't believe there is any difference. I bought some from amazon for $33.
Works just the same and feels nice and sturdy. I put them permanently on my car. There is no need to pay the corvette tax and pay over $100 for these.

For permanent mounting make sure you use a good thread lock and check them every once in a while to make sure that they are tight.
You do not want it coming off on the road.

I have several sets. The ones I keep in my car are composite from Reverse Logic that I don't believe are currently available. But see several similar and cheaper just can't be permanently installed for a trip to a tire dealer etc. No big deal as I just tell the techs to use mine. All mine meet the GM spec of max 2 1/2-inch diameter. Mine are 1 inch high.
Below is a pic of mine being used by the Corvette tech when he installed my DCT filter. His lift has big jack pads BUT he uses mine to be sure he's lifting on the frame NOT outside or the rear OR too far forward.
My Reverse Logis pads have a unique ability to mount for a trip say to a tire dealer who will not have Jack Pads. BUT I keep 4 in my C8 Toolbag and would just tell them to use those. See some pads without that feature than would work fine. I have a set of 2-inch-high aluminum I use at home but now those are much more expensive.
This is an interesting benefit of 1 inch high pads. When changing the DCT filter have to remove the large aluminum under panel. It has many bolts but there are two on each side very close to the GM Oval lift slot where the jack pads fit. By using my pads, the tech was above to access those 4 bolts.
Chuck a skilled tech used their large round lift pads on their lift that blocked those 4 screws. he said they had to reposition and lift a number ot time to access. Check who is at the dealership with Rick Conti is very good. Would not trust the average tech to position Jack pads on their lift arms properly!
I started using Hockey Pucks with my 1989 C4 and now with my C7 and when i get my C8 never had a problem and less than 10 bucks !!
My wife was on a women's hockey team .. we use the pucks all the time ... as spacers, for lifting, under the legs of shelves to protect the epoxy floor ...
I bought the blue version of these and they've worked well so far.
the amazon listing shows the OD is 2.94 inches which is more then what GM max spec of 2.5 inches. any issue blocking ther panel bolts? thanks in advance

They fit like a glove on mine, didn't notice them blocking anything.

I have used the same BMW jacking pucks on my last two C5s and now my C7. They work great and stay snapped in place all the time. I think I paid $50-60 for the set of four.
I use these, work great. Why risk 'leave-in' pucks? I know two owners who have had them become dislodged and take chunks out of their rockers.
It literally takes me about 90 seconds to remove these from my frunk and install them.
Had the $33 Amazon aluminum pucks on my C7. A little blue loctite on them and they never budged. Will use them on my C8 when it arrives in a couple weeks.
Besides price the most important aspect of jacking pucks is the height of the puck especially if you plan to use a QuickJack. The thin pucks do not provide enough clearance between the QuickJack and the underside of the rockers.
This is not correct. I have the Paragon pucks and a 5VM side skirts to boot. Car is also lowered .75" all around. I can easily lift it with my QuickJack TLX 5000 using the shorter of the two sets of rubber blocks that came with the QuickJack. Clears the underside of the rockers and side skirts just fine.
