Does the 2023 C8 Stingray come standard with wheel locks from the factory? My 22 had them and it looks like the dealer might have installed them, since the package that they came in, along with the key and code number, was inside my car at delivery. Didn't get any of the lug nuts that were removed though.
I have bought the GM equivalent for all 6 Vettes from McGard who supply GM in a package with their logo. If it didn't come with two keys buy a second and keep in a safe place!
Do not use Wheel Locks you will just ****-Off The Wheel Thief. Get a 12 point socket that will fit over the lug nut and pound it on with a hammer and use a breaker bar or impact gun and it will come off.

Good point. That's why I'm asking, because I'm thinking of taking them off or not having the dealer put them on at delivery if that is part of their PDI.

The Hi security GM wheel locks will spin and the lock will not come off. So, smashing a socket over the lock will just spin the shell of the lock. The Hi security GM locks provide a little more security than the standard McGuard lock, even though they made by McGuard, exclusively for GM.
OP: The dealer should of given you the four lug nuts they pulled off and the key. I'm not going to debate whether you should use wheel locks or not, but I recommend GM's Hi Security locks for a few more dollars and a little more protection. Also, don't store the key an obvious place.

Funny, even though crooks can break into my house with locked doors- I lock them. Easier, especially for druggies to find a neighbor who leaves one open! In fact, although Myrtle Beach is an hour away, there was just a daytime home invasion reported on the News. So I removed the 1st two 410 shells from my S&W Governor and now have all 6 loaded with 45 ammo.
SIDEBAR This easy to defect is BS, especially with 140 ft-lb install. Bought locks from the local Truck Accessory Shop for my S-10. They only had Gorilla puzzle locks. When removing a wheel the puzzle key broke. I smashed a socket over the lock and it would not budge. I have a MIG welder and was ready to weld a nut on the lock, a method that can be used. Finally used a 5 lb sledge and finally got a quality Craftsman socket to catch. NFW was I going to do that for the other three so had my purchase info and bought another key. Removed the other 3 and installed McGard! As I have for all 6 Vettes bought a 2nd key, just in case! Never buy Gorilla locks again. Know is was just a chance occurrence but burned once.
Just had an occurrence with Discount Tire who screwed up the key on the wife's BMW X5 SUV. Manager was mad at the tech as he had used an air power wrench on the key which they are instructed not to do and only use hand tools. Manager said bring it to BMW they have master keys. He said we'll pay for whatever they charge and all new locks.
It was close by and know the service writer, good guy. Asked if they could remove with their "Master Key." He said no such thing BUT we have a tool that machines the top of the lock using an air powered wrench. It includes a removal part that fits the machined part. Need to do on all 4 locks. That was ~$100 and another $100 for 4 new locks. Brought the bill to Discount Tire who paid. Manager said I'm going to ask for those machined lugs back and take a pic as I have to report the cost. Called the next day to ask if he got them. He said yep and had not been aware of that device, it's not cheap! Perhaps they should just hire someone who says it so easy!
Had bought locks from the local Turck Accessory Store for my S-10. They only had Gorilla locks. Removing a wheel, the key broke. Was ready to weld a nut on the lock after a number of attempts to get a 12-point socket smashed over the lock. Finally used a sledgehammer and got that one off. No way was I going to get the others off that way. Bought another key as I have my purchase info! Probably just a chance occurrence BUT will only by McGuad now.
Just checked the window sticker for my 22 1LT and no wheel locks listed and I didn't order them. I have no idea how I got them, but that's o.k. with me. I also checked the specs. that I copied from Chevy's website, and they're not listed there as well.
JerryU, I certainly understand your logic. But I read a recent post where someone tried to steal a C8 wheel and because they couldn't get it off the car, they did thousands of dollars in damage which was much worse and more difficult to repair than the cost to replace a wheel. That was my concern and gave me something to think about, from a different perspective, that I had not considered before.

I found the O.E.M. standard chrome wheel locks (SFE) for $95.00 and the Ultra-High security chrome wheel locks (SQU) for $105.00, on the 2023 price list. Looks like an upgrade to the best ones is a bargain if someone is wanting to install wheel locks on a C8. Thanks for your recommendation.
Got just the empty package with no original lug nuts. I guess someone decided to keep them!
Wow, they normally throw the key back in the package with the original lugs and the paperwork which has the key code. Hopefully you gut the key and the code.
Also, I recommend to buy the extra key and register with McGuard with the key info. Then, even if you lose both the key card and key, your information will be on your online account with McGuard.
I bought the regular wheel locks for my C8, after delivery. I have since removed them after reading the pros and cons on several threads and deciding that, to me, they are more of a liability than an asset.

When I drove soft top convertibles I didn't lock my car. I would prefer them to take what they wanted over having to replace the top after they took what they wanted.
Someone told me that all the locks do is keep honest people honest. Since you can get a special type of socket that gets pounded over the lug nut and then the nut can be unscrewed with a breaker bar.
