I love all the ridiculous comments here about why you shouldn't have wheel locks and the people that believe them. Just makes me feel a lot safer with my wheels that are locked. I do hope that none of you end up paying for your totally unrealistic conclusions.
They offer a great incentive to totally f**k up your car if someone wants to steal your crap OEM wheels. I never use them on anything... tires and wheels are insured.
^^^^
Does that picture look like they really took good care of that car??? Sure, they are insured. Did you consider for a moment how much trouble it would be to replace those wheels and tires and how long that car would be out of commission while you did that? Then there is your deductible that you would pay. If you went with a set of real forged wheels, your car could be on those stones for 3 or 4 months. And Corvette tires are usually in short supply.
Again, unrealistic conclusions!
Given all that, I suggest rethinking your conclusions about locking your wheels.

I love the folks that criticize other’s opinions with their own baseless opinion. The risk decision to use or not use locks is situational based on many factors. I consider the risk extremely low based on my situation and will not use locks. I have two brand new sets sitting in the garage that were immediately taken off the cars when I drove them home from the dealer.
On a side note… Since they removed the emergency key cylinder on the 23’s the trunk is a great place to store the key if you choose to use locks.

Whether or not to use wheel locks is a personal decision - doesn’t affect me one way or the other what a person decides. I choose not to use wheel locks. I am careful where I park the car and it is locked in the garage when not in use. Plus I have insurance coverage should the worse happen.

Do you have information/proof that this car did not have wheel locks installed? A picture of a C8 on blocks with the wheels stolen doesn’t say anything about whether having wheel locks would or would not have prevented it. As others have stated, it’s a personal decision as to whether the potential risks outweigh the potential rewards. I have removed them from all of my vehicles.
