Legal (70 I think) Ultimate Ceramic Tint was installed at Tint World. No issue with distortion or HUD.
I have an appointment with Tintworld in the morning in Grapevine. Were you pleased with their work? They quoted addition $299 for top ceramic film on Windshield. Are you noticing a difference temp wise?

That's who did mine. I don't notice a temp rise, but our temps have been mild with all the rain.
They did a great job.
They did mine just 3 weeks ago. That is when my C8 arrived from BG.

I certainly haven’t seen a temp rise with the film. Since I just added it in September, I can’t tell what impact it will have with the Texas sun. All I can go with is their demo. It should provide significant UV protection for the interior materials.
I am confident it will perform as advertised and be a welcome addition for our Texas summers!
GM windshields already reduce UV down to 4% or less so any further reduction provides minimal benefit. And they already may already be tinted to 70% transmittance (don't know how much transmittance C8s have) so any additional tinting may exceed legal limits. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/20...00149-9999.pdf
The benefit of IR blocking depends on how much of it is reflected vs absorbed.

This.
Auto windshields are pretty much UV proof from the factory, I know this because I used to have those auto darkening glasses that only darkened when exposed to UV so they didn’t do me much good driving if I had tinted side windows.
Strangely enough side windows (even the factory tinted rears on SUVs) don’t block UV at all. Why they couldn’t apply that treatment to all windows makes no sense.
The only reason to tint a windshield is for IR which is for temperature not interior protection. I don’t find my non tinted windshield to add all that much heat anyway.
So doing the PPF on windshield really provides only protection against having it chipped? Not really any reason to do it other than that since the factory provides 96% UV protection?

I find that it has reduced glare. Outside glare. I don’t want to reach for sunglasses.
I can’t tell you about temps since it’s winter and I just got the car.
For me if it lowers UV or temps it’s $300 bucks well spent.
Due to massive construction in my area the $300 is very well wanted rather than a chip or windshield replacement.

Why would it reduce glare? First I’ve ever heard of that.
PPF is for chip resistance and won’t protect against the physics that actually results in a cracked windshield (the rake of a C8’s windshield is actually your biggest defense).
Aside from distortion, I’d be concerned with scratching the film with wipers, reactions with windshield wiper fluid, etc.

The film is applied to the inside of the windshield.
That’s window tint. This particular post is about PPF which is outside.
I couldn't find anyone who would PPF the windshield. I was told that it doesn't hold up very well. I did ceramic coat the whole car including the rims. I love how easy it is to clean now.

You can use Turtle Wax hybrid ceramic spray wax and get the same effect.
