That article is from 2021. It didn’t catch on then, probably won’t catch on now.

Not my cup of tea. Of course, I recognize that this offering is designed to appeal to old Corvette purists who continue to reject the taillight design of the C7 and now the C8.

I’m not bothered by the “Camaro-looking” taillights. Round lights simply look out of place on this car and the previous generation Corvette.

Year old article that said the product would be ready in May. Go to Competition Carbon website and you will see that there is no such product being offered.

Not a fan of the round taillight look for the C8. I think what they have on the car now looks just fine.

That’s a good thing

I wonder why it never made it to market?

Probably the same reason one of our supporting vendors prototyped a round tail light rear end for the C7 and never went into production with it. There simply wasn't enough demand for it to be able to offset their tooling/development/productionization costs.

I’m not as well read on these things as you, but I suspected lack of demand. I know I wouldn’t even consider converting to round taillights. Same category as vertical hinges on a Corvette. A cheap modification that doesn’t belong.

It's not 1963 any more. Not even 2013 any more. Besides, early C1s didn't have 4 round taillights. Neither did the C4 or C5. Or C7. Time to enter the 21st century.

The a**end needs a total simplified rearend design, not just the tail-lights.

Even though I don’t mind the look of the round tail light conversation I’m happy with the way my C8 looks as is.

I thought the taillights were integrated into the bumper, at least that's what I saw on some video when they were assembling C8s. Maybe these round tailights are just covers on top of the existing taillights instead of being replacements. They do look good on the car because they maintain some of the angular look to match the overall style of the vette but if they are just covers they won't be desirable. Like others said, there has not been any updates on availability of these on the vendor website.

Agree I like the C8 taillights. Would never want round taillights on an C8 that has an edge design.

Right.
And take away the trunk. Shorten up the rear. Great now we’ve redesign half the car. Would have looked great. But we good.
