As much as I love my C8, I can admit its flaws. If you are used to, and LOVE, your BMW, you might be better off buying a used M4 or 911 as a track toy. Or turn the 435 into a dedicated track car, and use the C8 as your daily touring/sports car. The C8 is a great all around sports car, and yes it can do very well on the track. But it is not really a "track car", and it doesn't really have the same kind of feel that the German cars do. $90k puts you into a brand new M4 or Cayman.
if I got a “mostly track car”, I’d get a used Cayman/718 or just get my old Toyota MR2 Turbo running again (as planned before the pandemic - and that WILL happen, I promise). But dang, the C8 is so amazing! I WFM now and will retire soon and don’t need to drive much unless I want to. I do that in my BMW or my wonderful old 4.3 liter S10 truck. Life is good! But I’d really feel nervous replacing the Bimmer with a C8 for daily driving.
Ha! I would be extremely concerned about trashing a new C8! Not so much for my old 435i. I could maybe get $20k for my Bimmer and I couldn’t even track the C8 for 500 miles (which wouldn’t take long). But I’d be very very nervous with it for a while, and would want a lot more practice with a less precious car on track. I’m still just a lower intermediate driver.
So then why the initial reasoning of buying a brand new $90k C8 to “spare” the BMW from track wear??
Wait, I get it. That’s all just the reasoning you are using to convince your wife why you need a new Corvette, right?? 😂😂

someone mentioned a ‘flood car’, definitely be cautious if it was delivered prior to the last hurricane.
good luck either way.
Thanks for the great advice! I checked again and the car is a coupe, not a convertible. That’s a plus in my opinion. Like the bearded guy on Hoovies Garage said about the convertible covering up the engine, “why put a blanket over the Mona Lisa?”
Anyway, the options bring it it at about 4k over MSRP, which is still not a bad deal. The real problem for me is the lack of the Z51 package. If and when I did track the thing, I’d want the enhanced cooling to keep it from melting down. I am lucky to be near VIR, and that track gets pretty dang hot in the summer.
I’ll see what they say about money when I go back and drive it.
Around where I live, if you can find a new C8 you are going to pay well over sticker. Even used ones can bring over sticker. I got lucky (a friend in the car business took 2 C8's in on trade in one day) and was able to get a used coupe (I was actually looking for another 4C a spider this time when I got the call about the C8's) for far less than it 80K + sticker. I picked it up Saturday. I have owned a lot of cars (the C8 is #484). many costing 4 times what the C8 stickered for, including 67 BMW's and I would agree that there are certainly better track cars (I used to build one of cars for street or track not both), but the C8 is one of the best out of the box (that is my term for stock cars) sporty cars I have ever driven, and I have a lot of experience with sporty cars. I have not been on this forum for a few years (I sold my C7 in 2019 also had C5's and C6's) and I am far better versed on Porsche's (I have owned 45 and not been without at least one for almost 50 years) and other German and Italian brands than I am on Corvettes, but I appreciate a good machine no matter whose brand name is on it. I always have a purpose for the cars I own and while the car I bought has the Z51 package I have already ordered the all-season tires that come with the cars without the Z51 package since on the street .94 vs 1.04g's is not going to make a bit of difference on the street. If you are really considering tracking the car the lack of the Z51 package might be an issue though the aftermarket usually can offer fixes for most issues. Remember a good deal is just a state of mind what someone else on here considers a good deal might not be what you or someone else might think. The answer to your question can truly only be answered by you. Good luck
I just bought my 22 white/white HTC 3LT. Not a option missing I dont think. Its got every bell, whistle, tickle and giggle (as my wife puts it) for almost $89K. Hope that helps. Good luck keeping the interior white LOL. Some days its harder then you think.
