Default My Experience

To anybody that cares I was all hyped up and excited about ordering a C8 and I posted about it and lots of people helped me but I just couldn't go thru with it. Call it no guts or whatever I didn't do it.

Thanks for keeping us posted on what you are doing Walt. Every day I say to myself “I wonder what Walt is going to do”?

What made you change your mind?

I have a 2023 C8 HTC in Red Mist Metallic and I absolutely love this car. No issues at all.

Are you old and retired and debt free? That's what it took me to write the check for my 22 HTC. Figured I needed to do it before I was 6 foot under. If mid age with rug-rats still in the house and a depression and rising unemployment coming I was satisfied with a nice C5,6,or 7.

Eh for some people it doesn't make financial sense. Its fun to have but I also understand if someone wants something more convenient or just wants the money on hands. Times are hard.

I'm the same way. When they pull my ticket my answer will depend on my mood that day perhaps even the hour as some days it's too much trouble to pick a color let alone make space for it.

But if I'm reading a bit of regret in this just do it next time. There are no wrong answers.

Put your $1000 deposit down, then in one year you can decide if you really want the car.
If you are not excited about all of the thrills and enjoyment a world class sports car can give you, then put ten $100 bills in your wallet and look at them once in a while.

Not sure I want the car. I'm vulnerable right now because I'm between hobbies. I'm on the rebound.

And those $100s are just yesterday's tens.

Design8 It's such a hassle, no illnesses here but I don't know if I'm being responsible at the wrong time There was a time when I would have already done it Damn the torpedos full speed ahead now there other things I/we need to do. When it's ok with the significant other I guess. Look I could order one tomorrow but is the thing to do for us I don't want a bunch of problems or hassles with a car I don't have the patience I read the posts here regularly and I'm not equipped to put up with transmission replacements wait 12- or more months etc etc. I've had every car I ever wanted single or married frankly I like my Z51 and it has NO PROBLEMS!!

As long as you are happy with your decision that really is all that matters. Owning a C8 is everything to some and they get a lot of good times and enjoyment from owning one. Others have different priorities in life, so enjoy what you have and stay grounded.

There ARE other cars out there that are just as entertaining to drive, if not as fast....

I try to keep in mind that it's more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow... There's something out there for ya.
