I've never understood why Paragon doesn't offer things like the key fob cover and now this Z cover in C8 colors. Why not yellow. I feel like I am being discriminated against because of my color.
I mean, if you are going to charge $35 for a .15 piece of plastic why not have china make them in all colors of the C8?

I purchased mine on Ebay (probably from same source) for only $18...
The original button is plastic not brushed aluminum.
Easy mod. Takes about 15 minutes. Two bolts is it.
For the sack of clarity this “easy mod” is more than removing two bolts.
In order to install this “easy mod” first you have to remove all the plastic trim in the funk to get to the battery. You then have to disconnect the battery. You then have to remove (ply) two covers on either side of the steering wheel behind the paddles to get to the bolts. Using a 10mm socket you remove the two bolts that hold in the steering wheel air bag. After removing (but not unplugging) the center air bag out of the way you have to pry the OEM “Z Mode” button using two small pry tools being very careful not to break the plastic Z mode switch because if you do your day just went to sh-t. After removing the silver Z mode button you then insert the new red button.
After installing the button reinsert the air bag housing, screw in the two holding bolts being careful not to over-tighten (strip) the threads, pop on the bolt covers then reattach the battery terminal, after which reinstall all the frunk trim covers making sure the rubber weather stripping are properly aligned.
You can skip the steps outlined in the Paragon video as far as removing panels in the frunk to disconnect the battery as it's not necessary to do so since nothing electrical is unplugged or disconnected in this mod...Paragon seems to disconnect the battery in all their video mods...ha!
It really is a quite simple install...At least for those that have experience with these types of mods...

Yes, it's just electroplated plastic and not brushed aluminum...The OE button probably comes from the same factory in China that offers the painted version...

Difficult, no but more than two bolts.
Actually all you have to do is remove two plastic covers over two bolts and the two bolts. The airbag doesn't have to be disconnected so you don't have to mess with the battery either (which i can get to in 90 seconds).
You slide the airbag out slightly, pop the old one out and new one on.
