I was going to start a thread on this. The biggest thing for me was that it solved the headlight issue!!!!!!!
The headlights come on and stay on, even in bright sunlight. Some of the last built 2022's and the first built 2023's have this problem. I turn the headlights off manually. It is just annoying.
I received notice of a pending update to download on Sunday afternoon when I started the car. (It had not been driven since mid-January, so I don't know when it was pushed.) When I returned home, I initiated the update process. When I checked on the car an hour later, the update had failed and the message said contact my dealer. Everything seems to be working properly, no issues.
I had the headlight issue discussed above, and in my case, the dealer forced an update to remedy the situation. It may be that the update on Sunday failed because it had already been accomplished, I don't know.
I had read all of that Headlight Thread. My car was built on the 23rd of May Vin 00089. I had a local dealer change out the sensor. It did not help. I was then told it would be fixed by an Update online. I am still waiting. Hope they get us all fixed soon. Thanks for your help.
Still waiting for an update to correct the random "service transmission" alert that comes up every 4 or 5 drive cycles (and there is nothing wrong with the trans).
@csnapp In my case, my dealer did the same thing. Replaced original sensor with a new one, no difference. So they consulted with Chev, and on Chev's suggestion, and after checking with me to get my OK, they forced the update. (Not over air, they hooked the car to a computer.) That did it.
You might want to suggest to your dealer that they should update it for you.
Battery condition is paramount for an OTA. The State of Charge must be 70% or greater. A common reason for a failed update is the ambient temperature. When colder i.e. at/under 14F you have less likelihood of a successful OTA. This can be the impact of cold weather on the battery performance. Cold combined with the car not being driven for a period of time, a successful update is also problematic.
The update announcement will remain active for 30 ignition cycles from the first attempt. Whether due to a failure or the owner choosing Remind Me Later. After 30, the OTA is abandoned.
If you have a failed update, you can manually retry it. Home>Settings>System>Vehicle Software>Updates. Both pending and installed OTAs will be listed.

Thanks for this as I never had an OTA, I have mid production 22 and when it warms up I will check to see if I have one. If so I will plug in the battery tender and do it.

Was it in the garage when you initiated the update? I watch two YouTube videos from two different Chevrolet dealers who said to always have the car outside when starting the update. That’s what I did had no update issue.

No, it was in the driveway. And when I started the update, I was just back from a two-hour, 100 mile or so drive. I am aware of most of the factors Papillion mentioned in his post, and especially aware that battery level is critical. (Thanks, by the way.) Corvette has seen a lot of garage time since Thanksgiving, but it was out for a couple of hours in Dec, Jan, and now Feb. And I keep it on the battery maintainer anyway.
My update GM N22-237229 also failed today about 5 times. My Wi-Fi hostspot is located inside the house about 40’ away from the C8. Once I brought my Wi-Fi hotspot a bit closer to the car, the update installed correctly within 5 minutes. I also left the front doors to my house open to give the Wi-Fi hotspot a clear view to the C8. The C8 doors were also open. I believe a strong, clean Wi-Fi signal is paramount.

interesting. I had two updates in the last 5 months and both installed without issue.

It goes back to cars built in February of last year.
I had an update that kept failing. I tried it after a long drive to make sure the battery was fully charged - no go. I tired it when I had a good connection to wi-fi, left it in my driveway for better reception to the AT&T 4G network, etc. (even though this shouldn't matter since once you get the message to install the download has already completed) - no-go. I tried initiating it with the engine running - no-go.
Then one day after a short drive I just parked it in my garage and tried again - it decided it was ready and successfully updated.
It will update when it is darn good and ready to update.
