When I came home from getting my tire repaired, I noticed oil in the same place on my garage floor as last year when I had the TX leak. All seals were replaced. Only 600 miles since then. Going in Friday for investigation.
Especially as I looked back in my records, Both seals were replaced last April, coincidentally when I was in to replace a flat tire. Here I am almost a year later with only 600 miles since then and into my dealer fix a flat tire and the Tx problem resurfaces (oil appears on garage floor). In case any are wondering, I normally just pull in and out. This time and last time I happen to stop outside of the garage to "organize" and the oil leak was visible on the floor that is normally covered by my C8. Lesson to all, move your cars and look underneath on the floor occasionally. If you have a DD C8, you may never notice. Your C8 needs to be parked for extended periods in order for enough to drip down - very slow leak. If DD, most will fall on the city streets and you may never know until ....
Until my mechanic actually verifies it as a leak on Friday, it is supposition on my part, but oil on the garage floor in the exact same spot with the same look and color makes me fairly sur ethe problem was more than the seals or the new seals are also defective. I'll soon know. I'll update as I know.

The oil seals must have been replaced as an in-warranty repair. Any idea how much the out-of-warranty cost would be? I imagine the entire tranny has to be dropped.
A dealer wanted to replace a leaking rear main crank seal on a front wheel drive Cadillac Seville. The entire engine/transmission/differential assembly, which included part of the front suspension had to be dropped. This entire assembly was to be dropped out of the bottom of the car. I think the labor for just the in and out of this assembly was $3000+. It was cheaper just to add a quart of engine oil as needed.
Years ago a friend on mine was the president of the local Jag club. He and some members went down to a new car display at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. He said it was embarrassing, the new Jag was the only car that had an oil drip pan underneath it.
PS - What does it mean when a British car isn't leaking oil? - It out.

Warranty repairs do not show the pricing for labor or parts on the customers returned work order, but If i recall correctly, to drop it out is a 10 hour billing alone.
BTW, FYI, ... I purchased the extended warranty offered by GM through Todd Sutherland at MACMULKIN JIC (JUST IN CASE) for these and other unexpected events.
BTW, it took 600 miles and 10 months to notice - Not really. It is a very slow leak from the seals apparently. DD (for those that don't know TX, daily driver) will drip out on the road vs garage floor. It probably started leaking (again) nearly immediately, but it takes time to drip down and out before there is enough coating to reach the floor. AND UNLESS you inspect under your game changer weekly at a minimum, you will not notice it. In both of my cases, the amount of oil on the floor was apx a half of a cup of coffee in size spread out like an amoeba.
