Default C8 versus C7

We have a 23 Stingray Z51. We also have a 15 Z06. We now have just over 3009 miles on the 23 and while it is a very nice car and cool in many ways I just can’t decide I like it better than the Z06.
Think if I had my way and could get enough out of it I’d sell and look for a 19 ZR1. Guess it won’t happen since my wife doesn’t like the idea.

Anyone else feel the same way?

I had a 2016 Z06 which I absolutely Loved but the C8 is so nimble and you can actually apply all the power you have at a standing start. So I will have to say I give the slight edge to the C8.If I ever sell the C8 I might be tempted to look for a 2019 Z06 manual.

I have a 2017 Grand Sport which I will sell in a few months for a 2024 C8 HTC.
The C7's are amazing, all around. The C8's are more refined. I want a C8, NON-Z51 for a smoother ride. I am an old bastard.
The C7 Z06 is a hell of a car, so much power!
Your thinking of selling and getting a ZR1 is a very good/smart move. It is the pinnacle or the front engine Corvettes. The ZR1 is a very collectible, amazing sports car.
You should go for a 19 ZR1 or a new C8-Z06.
Good luck with which every you do. You are so lucky to have both a C7 and a C8.

Have a Red Mist HTC on order and should get museum delivery in early May. I have a 2016 Z06 and I'm NOT selling it. The C8 is an excellent car and quick - but I can't totally give up the power of Z! I also like the storage room for extended road trips. Thankfully my wife is fine with the idea.

I’m 68 and I really don’t find the Z’s ride to be that much more harsh than the C8. Haven’t had the suspension update done yet either and that’s supposed to make it even better.
Maybe it’s just what I’m used to but just like the feel of it better.

I had a ride in a C7 Z once. Nope. That thing was insane and I've no doubt I'd end up dead or have no license for 10 years. My '16 Z-51 and the '23 HTC have all the performance I'd ever need or want. Both are amazing machines.

First let me say I feel at home in my C8 . I think it feels like my C7 with some extra room , My wife said there is definatley more room on the passenger side of the car. Any one else thinks its bigger? I lost some weight so I am not sure if thats the reason

No you wouldn’t. It’s not hard to control with a little experience and common sense. I’m not talking just power through but rather the whole driving feel.

Same here on all points. Great to have wives that like Corvettes. We still have the 79 that my wife bought new.

I have a 2019 Z06 M7 Convertible. purchased and ordered new. All it took was a few rides and drives in my friends C8 to convince me there is no way I would give up my Z06 for a C8.

Keep the Z06, AND, buy a 19 ZR1 ZTK 7M? That is a great idea… and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

ooh, that’s kinda rough. Don’t think I’ll get myself in trouble. Doing pretty good with four Corvettes in the garage and a wife that likes them.

Four vettes in the garage? I've only got two so now I'm jealous 😁

It feels more spacious, but the seats fit more snugly and there's less useable storage space....or at least that's the way it seems to me.

The overall feel is very similar to the C7

Only thing I miss about my 17Z is the power on the highway. I actually have found that I don’t miss my M7 as much as I thought I would. The C8 HTC is simply a joy to cruise.

Love my C8 Z51 HTC so much more than my 2017 Z06 convertible! It gets the power to the ground so much better, and the handling is better to boot! Love the DCT much more than the 8 speed auto!

I used to share Corvette's with my brother in law until he passed away in a glider accident. Would have been able to keep the 2017 Z06 convertible if he was still around!
