Thought I'd share my experiences and gleam any further useful information from the community around engine failures.
Seems like my experience was similar to other threads I found. I was driving on the express lane out here in Dallas, was accelerating after traffic cleared and the engine began to shudder, there was a loud screeching sound, power suddenly dropped and then started to hear misfiring? Oil pressure was up and down as I was pulling over and then dropped to 0. Was on the way to work and had to walk the rest of the way to get to shift on time, so didn't get to inspect for oil under the car.
Car was broken in according to manual and had about 1100 mile on it before this catastrophe. First time owning a corvette and super disappointing experience to go through. It's on route to the dealer now to sort out what went wrong.
It's being handled at the dealer I purchased through "Stronebriar Chevrolet" in Frisco, TX.
They said they might be able to get to it tonight, otherwise it'll be first in line in the morning.

Sorry to hear. I have a C8 ordered with them also, and have had a mixed experience. I live close by, so I join Kracka in the offer to help, if you need something in the vicinity.

Yeah, my personal opinion, but they suck and I drive out of my way to go elsewhere.

Definitely getting that vibe. When I ordered mine through them, they warned me "to stay off the forums" figured there was good reason behind it but only dealer in the area i could place an order with in a reasonable time frame
I posted my incident last month- Mine occurred while waiting for a light the engine just shut down and would not restart. Bearing rod failure burned out 2 cylinders. New engine arrived 2 weeks ago is supposedly being installed now- (today is day 28 since it died) and Im told Ill get it back friday or monday. 13k miles 2021 htc non z51
Also I suggest starting an incident report and get a case number with customer service - often they can help and its good to document

At least its back at the dealer and they agreed to look at it today/tomorrow. Warranty will get you taken care of.

I was warned to stay away from Stonebriar too (I'm in Frisco). Right now my 200 mile, 2 week old C8 is at Huffines in Plano awaiting diagnostics on the transmission.

SO…. For people that want to mod any new car …. Beat the hell out of it after the the break in. Of coarse you are going to keep the car for a long time and mod it.
