Default Buying Experience

Good Morning to all my fellow members, I am the lucky buyer of a beautiful 2020 3LT Z51! She was delivered at 1636 yesterday afternoon.

The purpose of this post is not to gloat (Which I guess I am). But to let you know about the buyer experience.

Dan (Badgerfan87) posted this car on Friday evening I believe with some spectacular pictures. I have been searching for a replacement for my 2016 Z06 for quite some time and saw this on Sunday morning. Being hesitant about buying online and out of state I looked at the pictures over and over but didn't reply to the post. I take my parents to an 11 am mass on Sundays. I came home figuring that it would be marked as sold and i wouldn't have to be tormented by the thought of buying it. Well, it was still there when i got home so I thought it might be fate, so I pulled the trigger so to speak and PM'd Dan. As luck (Bad) would have it Dan was without internet access for a couple of days hence the silence you can see in the post trail. I figured the car was gone until I got a reply from Dan on Thursday. I called him and was overwhelmed with info about the car history and additional pics as well as learning about the actual owner Mike who is Dans Bestie (Thats what my Granddaughter says so I will go with it). I made an offer which was not far off from the very fair listing price, Dan talked to Mike and the deal was done. I drove to NFCU got there just before closing and got cashier's checks and sent them overnight UPS (Fedex was gone for the day). Now the wait began. Mike called me a couple of times that night, he was in Memphis with clients but said he was headed home to NJ early in the am and would let me know when he received the checks. I got numerous updates from Mike both voice and text thru out the morning. Then came the news that even though we were both NFCU members Mike could not electronically deposit the checks because of the amount. The nearest NFCU to Mike was about 1.5 to 2 hours away and its noon on a Friday in NJ. Mike dropped everything he was doing and drove there to get the checks deposited so that we could work on getting the car picked up and shipped to me. Bottom line is Yes, I paid for a car, but Dan and Mike went above and beyond to get this deal done. The car was picked up Saturday with Mike talking to me on FaceTime allowing me to watch the car being loaded after a detailed walkthrough. the car was delivered yesterday, and I am still on Cloud 9.

My takeaway for anyone interested is Badgerfan and Mike..... You guys are Rock Stars!! I would not hesitate to buy a car from either of you again sight unseen. the communication between all was Superb, the effort by all was appreciated. The car was better than described (if that is possible) and I have a smile a mile wide. I would feel very confident in recommending both of you to anyone thinking about buying from either of you!!!!!!!

Oh, by the way my wife still does not know I bought the car. She has been overseas for the past month and will be home Thursday. My excuse I have been practicing in the mirror is " It's your fault dear, did you think I could stay out of trouble for 30 days with no adult supervision?"

I cannot duplicate the quality pics that were posted in the C8 sale section. But again my Granddaughter has come to the rescue and taught me about selfies.

Dave >. i am glad you are very happy with the Car.. Having sold 11 corvettes now for my self and friends its been a lot of fun. Helps to have some decent photography skills and equipment built over decades of practice.. Most importantly its been the friendships i have built through the corvette hobby that mean the most to me. The corvette forum is a fantastic place to exchange ideas and buy and sell .. All the best and enjoy that beautiful C8 ..will have my 2019 C7 GS available for sale whenever my E-RAY gets built ..LOL

All the best

Dan ( Badgerfan)

That's a great story and a testament to what a great forum we all belong to here. Well done - both of you.

@dpfaff - good luck with your wife upon her return. I'm sure once you take her for a ride, or better yet hand her the keys and sit in the passenger seat so she can drive it, all will be well.

Enjoy your C8!

Great story!!!

If you hustle, you should be able to get this shirt at the Kohl's in Charlotte TOMORROW. I mean, you need to go for a ride anyway?
