If you read your Owners Manual GM wants you to do it this way !! If you use the Tow Hook to winch your car on a Flatbed the winch is in the center of the bed and the hook is on the right side of the car and will pull the car to the left when it gets near the winch. And Remember a C8 engine has to be Running to put the car in Neutral. Tow Hooks are Good for Flat-Towing or Removing from a Ditch !!! I was a Tow Truck Driver for over 30 years and a Member of The Race Recovery Team at Daytona for 20 years !!!
Rather than the Tow Hook method, I chose to go with a V tow strap that is long enough to hook into the shipping holes on the frame and come out clearing the front carbon fiber splitter with lots of room left over ! Came with a nice zippered fleece bag that I leave in the trunk. I've had this tow bridle since my C7 days.
I found it on eBay several years ago...... Seller was from SC if I recall. Sorry, I can't search back that far on eBay.... I do see where I paid $55 for it, including the bag. It's extra long.... about 76" or 78"

I'd recommend everyone pay attention to these posts. The single off-center tow hook is only for moving cars quickly from off-road excursions from street and track. Any flatbed driver halfway trained and safety conscious will not use the tow hook for hoisting onto a flat-bed. That's dangerous.
Yes, but the tow truck operator still needs a way to pull your car onto the flatbed. This makes certain he's not going to try to pull you up by the wheels or aluminum suspension parts.
Looks like they are out of stock right now, but put them on your watchlist and keep an eye out until they become available again. That's how i got mine.

I think that's the same guy I ordered my y-bridle from. I spoke to him, and he manufactures them himself, so if you order, it shouldn't take long for him to make it unless he's backlogged.
I carry both a tow hook and the ebay V-Bridle tow strap. I keep them in a bag in the trunk with all my other “emergency” gear. Hopefully I will never need any of it.

If you READ the manual about the tow hook, it clearly states NOT TO USE IT TO PULL A CAR FROM A DITCH as you suggested it was used for. Just an FYI. Below image is from a 2023 manual.
So GM says to use the tow eye to "load the vehicle onto a flatbed tow truck". While the tow eye is not dead center on the car and there will be some side force while pulling the car up it isn't significant enough to be of concern. So much for 30 years of towing experience previously stated. I like the tow eye method because I have permanent jacking pucks installed.

Thx much! 👍 Out of stock now, but selected; WATCH, for when available.
If you have the Front lift option, you can raise the car with the engine off. Close doors, engine off and go into Acc/Accessory mode, then press and hold the lift button for 10 seconds. To lower, close doors and press the lift button.
This will allow for additional front clearance when loading onto a flatbed tow truck. Just another way the front lift system can become useful.
