Default Windshield replacement problem

Hello all!

I just had my windshield replaced with an OEM windshield. I've given it a month to dry and noticed where it says TEAM CORVETTE in the bottom corner - I noticed it only says TEAM CO and the rest is black and barely visible. I assume it's whatever they use to glue the windshield in.

Question is - is there anything I or they can do to clear the rest of the CORVETTE out? Without replacing again.

More important, is it water-tight? If so, stub your toe on something to take your mind off it; while recovering get in the car and go for a drive and never think about it again.

it's water tight yes - and I could try to forget about it but everytime I clean my car I'll see it. And I'll be annoyed because it's not right and looks tacky.

Someone will correct me I'm sure but there is no way the glue is hiding that problem. Those letters, while part of the design, should have a black coating underneath them which the glue is applied to securing the windshield. If anything, it's a defective OEM windshield and I would bet that it looked that way before installation.

If something is covering the lettering, go back to the glass company and ask them if they can clean the area so you can fully see the Corvette name.

Wrong. Many have put a colored piece of paper behind that spot to colorize the Team Corvette.

OP, see if you can slip a piece of paper between the windshield and the Team Corvette area. You should be able to:

If not, they've got something there that should not be there.

you hit it on the head right there - that's exactly what I do too - but can't cause it won't go down there.

To see ours, I need to be within 6". Wearing my cheaters, angled just right, and using a flashlight. If I was the vendor and you ask to have it replaced again, I charge you for it.

I'm not even sure what you are talking about. TEAM CORVETTE is at the bottom of all the new OEM windshields. You don't need to wear any glasses, it's obvious. Sorry you are blind? Can't charge me for a terrible install.

I'm glad I was wrong about that but then that is also a dumb design in my opinion. If you can slip a piece of paper down there then it seems dust/debris could collect there as well and that would look really special.

A photo of the problem would help a lot.

Agree, a picture would help but sure sounds like they were heavy handed on the applicator gun

Take it back to whoever installed it, tell them what you've told us, and see if they can explain why you can't see the rest of the lettering.
