Default Latest update issue

Never had any issues with updates, and the latest one a couple of days ago went fine, except the next time I went to use the car the automatic remote folding mirrors function isn't working. I've gone into the settings and shut them off, on, used the car a few times with the function off, tried turning them on again and still nothing, they will only fold by pressing the button on the door panel. Anyone experiencing this, and anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

With the car off, open the door and leave it open for about 15m. If that doesn't work, you can try to disconnect the negative terminal on the battery for 10m. Think of the 1st option as a soft restart and the 2nd is a hard reset.

This is what I have heard to do also. If those fail, time for a dealer visit.

An irritant, sure... but hardly a critical glitch as electronics sometimes go.

Who said anything about it being critical?

A little off topic, but I'm not performing these updates.
They seem to cause more problems that what they claim to fix or improve.
If your car, starts, runs/drives fine. Leave it be....

Same here. The dealer can update when it’s time for its first service.

I always do the updates. Don't want to wait a year for a dealer service. I take precautions but I've done four now with no problems at all. Either I'm doing something right, others are doing something wrong, or it's a crapshoot and I'm a lucky guy.

I don't see how there is anything to do wrong, the updates have always gone through with no issues. It's only this time where I've lost a function, and the leaving the door open to let everything reset didn't work.

To do a system reboot: turn off engine and open and leave the door open for at least 90 seconds. Close door and start engine to complete the system reboot.

After I did one of the OTA updates, my front lift did not work. I performed the above steps and all was good.

what actual difference have any of these made? What have you noticed? They certainly can’t be anything critical or essential.

I haven't noticed any difference but that doesn't mean that they don't do something important or valuable. Even if they don't, I'm not going to ignore them with the assumption that there will never be a critical one.

I've never heard of anyone who sat in their car while it was updating, with the door and frunk open just in case, that had their car brick. That's how I've done my four updates.

To each his own...
I don't believe these updates provide much of anything critical or valuable because if they did, it would be in done the form of a dealer installed TSB...
To date, I have not seen anyone post about the effects of an installed update except the problems they encountered after.

An update for my 2020 gave me the phone left in charger message. Never had any problems after an update.

Took a couple of tries, but this did the trick. Thanks.
