Default Goodbye C7, hello C8

I pulled the trigger the other day and traded in my 14 C7 3LT for a 2023 C8 1LT. It was bitter sweet. The only thing I really miss about the 3LT is the sound system. The 1LT sounds a bit flat compared to the upgraded system. Is there a way I can upgrade the LT1 speakers or even add a sub or better speakers?

FYI it isn't LT1 and LT3, which is funny because you said your C7 was 3LT, which is correct.

1LT and 3LT are the trim levels you are referring to. LT1 is the engine code for the engine in your C7, not a trim level for the Corvette.

Love the yellow on your '14, I'm glad you still decided to go with another brighter colour for your C8!

Funny I thought the sound system in the C7s was subpar. My 19 Z06 3LT vert was better because the speakers were behind the seats but still no comparison to the C8 3LT Bose. I can finally say the Corvette has a great sound system. Congrats and good luck!

If you do attempt any upgrades, be aware that your car may have "active noise cancellation" as describeD in your owners manual that may need to be disabled as stated in the manual. See the clip attached. There is no menu item to disable it. It is disabled by disconnecting one of the door microphones (if you have them) - see attached photo. The feature may only be on the 2,3 LT with the 14 speaker systems. At least one forum member did add a subwoofer and it was necessary to disconnect the microphone to disable the feature(s) - but I do not know if his car was 1, 2, or 3 LT.

I say "may" because the 10 speaker system may not have that feature.

The Bose website, at this link,

https://automotive.bose.com/vehicles...vette-stingray

says that the 14 speaker system on the LT2,3 has "engine harmonic cancellation" which uses the car’s audio system to generate acoustically opposite sound waves, reducing the unwanted powertrain noise. This description sounds like it is the Active Noise Cancellation feature The 14 speaker system also has "engine harmonic enhancement" which uses the sound system to enhance select engine tones, providing refined and desirable powertrain sound inside the cabin. Neither of these features is listed for the 10 speaker system on the Bose website.

THIS IS THE GRILL FOR THE ACTIVE NOISE CANCELLATION MICROPHONE - IF YOU HAVE THEM.
