I have a 2022 HTC. Last month I drove on a trip that was over 3 1/2 hrs straight. Got home and removed my suitcase with clothes and dopp kit immediately and tossed my clothes in the laundry. Everything was completely the same as if it was in the trunk of my BMW. Absolutely none of it was warmer than room temperature.

There were a couple of U-tube videos showing outside temp at 30 degrees and trunk going into the 90's and in the 90's going to 138 degrees

TKOPerforamce has a heat shield they say will cut the heat rise by 30 degrees.

installed in my Coupe and my temp rise tends to stay under 30 degrees; using a TempStix to measure heat rise

Trunk temps aren't really a problem while you're moving. It's when you park, and the trunk gets heat soaked from the engine and exhaust. Trunk insulation will only slow heat transfer into the trunk, it won't eliminate it.

well the measurements showed about a 60 degree increase while moving so it would be worse with your heat soak when u stop

I've searched for "the fitted luggage" and there are too many sites all saying "official c8 luggage" yet they're different. Do you have a link to what you purchased? Did you purchase direct from GM? Thanks.

Im guessing you have a coupe.

Starting to think this may be a coupe issue. My HTC trunk doesn’t heat the contents up at all.

I would say it's quite warm. Took my new C8 to the golf course this past week. About a 45 minute drive. I keep a bottle of whisky in my bag for birdie celebrations. Birdied number 2 and the high temp ruined my drink.

I experimented with a thermal barrier, but it did not do much. I ended up pulling it out. See the following thread for my results and speculations based on those results.

TKOPerformance has a kit which has the silver foil and pad backing

i've found by using a TempStix to monitor trunk heat that once installed it limits trunk temperature increase to sbout 30 degrees over the outside temp. A reduction of about 30 degrees from what it would hit

HTC is an easy install. Couple requires the removal of the storage brackets so takes a little longer

Here’s a great interview with Tadge wherein he acknowledges around the 2:15 mark that airflow and thermal were the biggest challenge in engineering the C8 since they wanted room for luggage and the roof in the back. After watching this I’m grateful that the C8 has a trunk at all and I will quit complaining that it gets a little hot especially since it has a frunk too.

Cold stuff in the front, anything else in the back. To me, the rear trunk is a bonus.

i installed some Thero-tec (
Link Link
) and I also keep a soft sided cooler in the trunk for those unexpected trips to the grocery store on the way home from (insert location). It's worked out well and I have no complaints.

I purchased directly from GM using my points.

You can (and should) either order through your dealership or using the MyChevy app. Be forewarned that these bags are pricey, about $700 a piece, but are quality. Two bags fit in the rear trunk and one in the front trunk. You only really need two for the rear trunk.

I bought from Amazon one roll of
Brand: US Energy Products Brand: US Energy Products
Double Bubble Reflective Foil Insulation (24 inch X 10 Ft Roll). Cut roll into two 10ft pieces. Then ,when I changed the engine air filter I installed one layer along the front part of trunk and along the base of trunk. Then I tapped the second piece about half way down the front of the trunk. Making two layers on half the front of trunk and bottom. Cut 3 inch holes for reattaching the cargo net hangers that hold the trunk liner in place.

This made my trunk very close to the normal temp of a normal trunk. This material is like the bubbled windshield sun protectors.

I used a freezer thermometer with WiFi capabilities; Foing what has been described in this listing was able to cut heat run up by 40 degrees

mine isn't bad at all and I put on new exhaust that doesn't have any heat shields.

The link just goes to Amazon, not the product.

We stored a bottle of red wine in the trunk on a 3 hour trip, got to destination and the cork was half way out because of the heat. Now we store in the frunk. Always something new to learn in life.LOL
