Received notice of OTA update July 13th on my 2021 HTC build date 6/21/21.
Installed the OTA this evening at home took about 30” heard the Front Lift cycle during the update.
MyChevrolet phone app notified me the install was completed and successful.
MyChvrolet app notified me this morning that “Important Update GM N23-241010A” was available. I’ll do it next time I’m out for a drive. That is the first time the app has said anything about an update. I think this is my third update on my early 2021 model.
It also says the update includes the following: “Updates made to the overall vehicle software update process.”
I don’t believe you can do an update while driving. And I’d never do one outside my house.

I didn’t mean when I was actually driving, lol. You definitely can’t do them while driving. I just meant I won’t bother to go out to the garage now just to do the update. I’ll do it in the garage after I get home from my next drive.
A friend mentioned his C8 had a recent OTA and I checked and I had none since 2022. About 3 days later I got the update message so went ahead. My guess is that the updates are not released all the same time and may be by city or some other location or vehicle identifier.
PS my update went smoothly: after asking if I wanted the update, the system mentioned a few recommendations, told me it might take 60 minutes and asked if I wanted to begin update or postpone. Next day the Info screen told me the update was successful. Painless.

I received the same notice via MyChevrolet app. Plan to do it tomorrow.
Has anyone learned yet what the July 2023 software update fixes, modifies or adds to the system?
To my knowledge, I've never seen a GM explanation of what any of the OTA updates aim to "fix" since C8 intro. They choose to describe them as "your car keeps getting better."
One of the updates for my car magically fixed the "headlights always on" in auto mode issue that affected late production '22 MY cars. The auto headlights system wasn't programmed properly to recognize what the sensor was telling it.
The description of that update didn't even use the word "headlights," and there was no reference to anything other than software updates.
Some what some are calling updates are TSBs technical service bulletin that are only done at the dealership and ONLY if your C* meets the requirements to need it. Don't get so deep in the weeds with updates, GM will either do an OTA if it is necessary for your C8 or catch you up re TSBs when you go to your dealership once a year. No need to worry. Let GM do the worrying for you.
