I have the silver Tridents on my 22' and this is the first I've heard of it. I've had one tire replaced and another one repaired from running over crap in the road but no issues with the wheels themselves.

Just wondering.....are these forged wheels? I'd think cracking would be more prevalent with wheels that were just cast. But apparently forged aluminum aircraft parts are often X-rayed so I guess forged stuff can crack also.
Apparently the Trident wheel cracking issue that has plagued 2020-2022 MY's has now been found on 2023 vehicles. Anyone else have this issue?
This is the first I am hearing of wheel issues on C8s, but I know C7s had issues. Plagued seems like a very strong word for something nobody here so far has heard of, and that article in a previous post is from 2021.
Crap… hadn’t heard about this and ordered tridents on mine that’s supposed to be built in two weeks
This is a thread in search of a problem. GM did discover a bad batch of wheels and replaced those. There have been few, if any, reports of these wheels cracking during normal driving. You will be happy with your tridents - I am.
Can you tell how deep the "crack" is? It may just be a crack in the coating. And it's in a completely different part of the wheel than where the C7's are cracking.

Yes thank you. The reason I posted the article and question was to ensure others check their wheels and see if any one else has a similar issue as mine. Safety first. Appreciate all the input.
Looking at the flat surface with a strong light where my yellow arrow is pointing, you should be able to see if it's through the aluminum.
And with soapy water on the crack to see if it's leaking air at all.
Thanks for the suggestions. The crack is still tight and doesn't allow me to see below the surface using a spotlight. The view from the top doesn't show a deep fissure through to the aluminum and the wheel is not leaking. Fingers are crossed.

Do you have any further background on how you came to your understanding? The MotorBiscuit (guess all the good names were already taken) reference posted elsewhere in this thread doesn't seem to have any useful information, like for instance date codes if any exist.
Calling it a "plague" as the OP makes this sound rather alarming. Certainly I haven't gotten any recall notices and a quick inspection didn't turn up anything.
