Four of my five Corvettes have been red. I got the black wheels on my C7 and C8 to break up the red but went with chrome on my C4 and C5 because I liked the look. Both were wheel swaps with West Coast Corvette.
When I bought my C6 it already had the Z06 chrome replicas on it so I kept them. It's all a personal taste but I like the chrome on the black car. I'm not into that much black.
Thanks for posting those pics Mako - it looks like those are the same trident wheels that my car came with (see below) except in black and chrome which I had no idea was even an option! Normally I’m not a huge fan of black wheels but I must say on that black car they look “bitchin” as we used to say in the 80s My tridents are described as “machine faced sterling silver painted” which I suppose is like going half way between black and full on chrome like MVRider did above with his brushed titanium wheels. They all look great IMO on black cars so it’s just a matter of taste obviously.

To me black wheels are a waste of money. No matter how intricate the design, I really can’t see the detail until you are right on top of them, not true with silver painted, aluminum brushed or chrome wheels where you can select the design you like and actually see the difference.
