Big M Chevrolet in Radcliff, KY is charging a $10,000 fee to purchase a C8 from their allocation. Do anyone think that is fair to the customer?

It is not something that would appeal to me, but they are not the first to have an added dealer markup for the purchase of a C8. They know they have a product in high demand and that there are buyers out there that, instead of being willing to wait a few months to get a car at MSRP, will pay a premium to get the car quicker.

The simple solution is to find a dealer that will sell at MSRP without any ADM and get on their wait list. There are a number of such dealers advertising right here on the forum or just do some research by contacting a number of dealers and see what their policy is on pricing.

A markup on a Stingray is ridiculous. I see there are now some 2023's at dealerships.
My local dealership charge MSRP - $500.
The top 10 dealerships are big because they sell at MSRP for Stingrays.
I would go to MacMulkin or Ciocca if I couldn't find a local dealership.
Z06's are another story.

Default Additional Dealer Markup Mania

First, parse MSRP. Manufacturer' Suggested Retail Price. Emphasis on the SUGGESTED.

Selling something anything say on eBay, the seller wants the maximum a buyer is willing to pay. No different with car dealers. Or you I'd suspect? If you were selling your car would you sell it for $10k less than you thought you could get? Of course you wouldn't. Relax Refresh Reboot with an cold beverage.

There’s a 3lt on the showroom floor 15 miles from me, Artic White, gray interior, $94,000 +/-. I sure would not pay an extra $10 grand, nor would I spend any time at that dealership.

It's called capitalism and it's only fair to the customer who is willing to pay the markup...

That said, a smart customer will shop around and find that there are a few Dealerships such as MacMulkin and Ciocca that will sell at MSRP...Currently wait times are 4~6 months with MacMulkin, but your guaranteed to pay MSRP with no games...With MacMulkin you can also setup a courtesy delivery from the factory to a local MM approved Dealership.

It's a total waste of time to even call a dealer with markups with so many other dealers selling at MSRP .

There is no "fair" in grownup discussion.

At MSRP, the demand for C8 is higher than the supply.

Some dealers make you wait in a line. Some make you pay a higher price. Some (few) just make someone's lucky day if they walk in at the right time.

Keep in mind, if Big M did not charge over MSRP, you would not have received the allocation. It would have already been snapped up.

So you can:

- Wait in a line
- Pay to skip the line
- Visit a large number of dealers and hope to get lucky.

Three choices, due to the demand at MSRP being higher than the supply.

How many Corvettes has he sold prior to the C8 being introduced? That will answer your question.

Ask if you can use it for a Z06, then yes. Keep or drive it 6 months and still turn a profit.

When I ordered a 24 SR in July, I had 4 different dealers offer @ MSRP. I went with the first to contact me when the allocations were released. The other three reached out, but they were up to 2 weeks to late to get my order. With ~25 dealers within 100 miles of home, no way was I going to pay any ADM. Just had to sort out which of the ~25 were going to do MSRP.

Been out looking, a dealership will have a few stingrays on their lot for 5-10k over sticker, while a dealership 10 miles away is selling them at sticker, just keep looking sticker price is out there

Default Do we really care?

I've seen and continue to see comments about dealers charging more then MSRP

By now do we really care? If you have already bought or are not buying why is this important?

its supply and demand and as a potential buyer you either pay or walk away until you find the deal you want.

enough has been written on this subject to know there are dealers selling st MSRP. That I would suggest should be the focus wuestion of who are they if u are buying

I am selling my 23 Torch Red C8 3LT with 1.3k miles for $96K. There are tons of the mildly used ones in the market. Why pay $10k over MSRP?

Does it make sense to pay thousands of dollars over the original MSRPs of used C8 Vettes?
