The "Best" are probably the stock GM, but I did the $79 ones on Amazon with the hard mounting brackets. I have compared and very little difference. The negative is the Chinese translated directions are horrible. The upside is $300 of savings. Once installed either product is barely noticeable. These do help and personally I think GM should have just designed these into the car.

Have you tried using the search feature? There are literally dozens of posts in the C8 forum that ask the exact same question!

That said, I installed CCGs 4-piece grill set for $99 which I believe to be the best value available....

GM parts sells the scrape armor brand, they are very well made and attach strong, you can buy them at GM parts and they will offer lower cost installation at the local dealer of your chosing

There are many to choose from so depends on what matters to you. I believe Scrape Armor are the best (GM must think so too) but they cost. It was worth it to me, why go cheap on a expensive car. Check out the videos as just about all of them provide some protection. What sold me on Scrape Armor was the sturdy attachment and that it has a wavy mold to custom fit exactly to our cars. Good luck but certainly something is better than nothing (unless you're tracking it).

Nice deal if stingray. If Z06 or E-Ray it’s an $1,100 production 🤮

Looks to be a knockoff of our Paragon Grille Guards.

I bought a window air-conditioner foam filter at Home Depot for $2.00, cut it in half to fit, and used 3M tape to attach it to the front of the condensers and never looked back.

Scrape Armor/GM installed at the dealer. Used reward points and some cash. When you see the fit and finish you'll understand the cost. Notice the space for the frunk open button.

yes. The GM ones are $399 and most say they charge $250 to install. So $650 or $79 and a couple hours of work. In the end the are powder coated sheet metal, nothing more.

I agree with the bottom tape. I used some 3M VHB layered and it held well. For us here in AZ, zip ties only last a year or so. I am looking at black metal zip ties as well.

Many of us used a product from a company who has been in the business for over 10 years. It was available from 2020, several years before the GM Approved grill guards that use 3M tape brackets for bottom attachment.

I used a method as a number of others that hides ALL cut edges and ALL Strong Nylon Ties behind the OEM grill. IF you wanted to use metal ties (often sold for muffler patch etc) they would also be hidden. BUT IMO not needed as Nylon ties will last as long as the car! Mine are ~ 3 years old and the very rigid aluminum mesh is held very tightly.

Have a How To PDF from 2020 that has been continually updated. Below are a few of the 30+ pics each with long captions: http://netwelding.com/CF_Splitter.pdf

You can chose one of two mesh sizes. Most have used the smaller 1/4 inch rather than the larger close to the GM Approved mesh. The 1/4 inch lets in 1/2 the size bugs and in 3 NE SC summers with 100+F days I have had (and many other report) zero increase in coolant temp. If you track in TX in the Summer may want the larger. Same low price if you cut your own. Also available precut.

My PDF references comments from other and includes a very detailed How To that was posted by member "blaun" that shows how from one $59 sheet it allowed him to make mesh covering all 4 open areas in the front (note the GM Approved Mesh only covers the large outer areas, which is the majority of the exposed AC Condenser BUT NOT ALL. He also had enough left over to make mesh covers for the two rear fender scoops.

Note the GM approved mesh uses 3M tape held brackets and some have expressed concern about that coming lose in the rain or when washing. MAY NOT but can guarantee my hidden Nylon tires will not come lose.

For those concerned about Nylon ties holding up, there are Stainless Steel ties. use the NO TIES Showing Approach outlined in my PDF and these stainless steel will work, note 100 for $12:

The no ties showing approach requires removing the grill bar. But it's the same three bolts that require removing as the GM Approved mesh requires.

Note once the bolts are removed the grill bar slips out of the elongated slots in the body. Note above that slot the grill bar slips into (all outlined in my PDF) is one of the holes used to attach the mesh hidden in this case by the grill bar.

In another PDF pic, a Forum member Broken Halo suggested using a Threadcert and the mesh can be bolted in place. Used those when building my Street Rod. that attach with a simple rivet gun and may be a good way to attach the CCG mesh with perhaps just two ties.

Ha ha I wonder which one Jerry is talking about? Again they all seem to have pros and cons so a lot of times its the money. I didn't want to spend that Scrape Armor money but I would rather have a form fitting guard, protected edges, and with all brackets (even using tape). Than something with open edges and tie wraps. Again once you decide how you want it to look and how much you want to spend, watch some install video's. Then pick the best one that checks all the blocks for you. For me it was Scrape Armor hands down. Good Luck.

If you're using UV resistive cable ties that have a lifespan of 8~10 years, you'll be just fine...CustomCarGrill for example actually supplies UV resistive cable ties in their grill kits....I've used these types of tie wraps in other outside applications here in So AZ and they've held up for a very long time...You'll also find similar ties wraps used in engine bay wiring which are subjected to high temps and required to last for fairly long time spans...
