keyless entry
The only way to lock the car from outside the car is either do it with the lock button on the fob or set the passive lock to on, then as you walk away it will automatically lock. What I don't understand is the comment above about having left the keyfob in the car and have passive locking on and getting locked out. The only way this can happen is if he had a second fob in his pocket and walking away, which he then could have re-opened the car with that same fob. Or maybe they left the fob in the car and pressed the lock button on the drivers door before closing the door? Or maybe something in the car interfered with the fob signal? Here is the language from the owners manual: Keyless Access will lock several seconds after
all doors are closed if the vehicle is off and
at least one remote key has been removed
or none remain in the vehicle.
The fuel door will also lock.
If other electronic devices interfere with the
remote key signal, the vehicle may not
detect the remote key inside the vehicle.
If passive locking is enabled, the doors may
lock with the remote key inside the vehicle.
Do not leave the remote key in an
unattended vehicle.
If the vehicle is locked with a remote key
inside the vehicle, that remote key will be
disabled for starting the vehicle and other
keyless access operations. To re-enable that
remote key, press any button on that
remote key.
The Keyless entry (Fob) will unlock the car but does not UNLATCH (open the door). You have yo use the youch pad on the inside of the handle.
