OP…. I assumed you took a look at the car? Hope so. That’s a lot of red. But it’s stunning. I’ve had 2 cars with the black red combo and it is sweet. 3k discount and maybe avoiding the price increase…..isn’t that a 5 k swing?

I did not look at it. I’ve seen a number of pics of all red interior. Some guys like it, that’s great, I do not. I wanted what I ordered. All in the car will cost about $100,000. I’ll get it like I want it, or I won’t.
When I told the sales person, he said “I don’t blame you for rejecting it.”

Sad way to ruin your expected delivery of your car. If you do not like the red interior, then I do not blame you for not wanting to accept it, even with a $3K discount.
The factory does make mistakes. In the early 70s, a friend of mine factory ordered a new Mustang. When the car arrived, something seemed "wrong" with the interior. After a few minutes of head scratching, the problem was obvious. Instead of a horse emblem on the steering wheel, it was a cat (Cougar) emblem. Upon further examination, the problem was not just isolated to the wrong steering wheel. The entire interior of this Mustang was actually a Cougar interior (both cars were built on the same line in those days). My friend really didn't mind and enjoyed the car for a few years before he traded it in. I WISH I had that car today. I just wonder what the value would be...
72 is young. My 96 year old neighbor just gave his grandson his 1967 corvette convertible as his knee replacement made getting in and out a little challenging.
at 72 somehow I would imagine this might not be your last new vette or at least I hope so.
sorry this happened..8 weeks or so and your new car should come in the way you wanted.
I get that you are pissed because it's not what you ordered. i would have felt the same way if they screwed up my torch red/adrenaline red interior with a black and red interior.
Black and red interior is my favorite. Good that you passed. GM certainly pissed in your Cheerios. I'd want the $3000 AND the right car.
Agreed. I had the black/red in my C5 Z06 and got the same in my red mist C8....love the contrast....
OP, when my dealer input the order into GM's Workbench, he printed out a copy of the order as entered. We went over it line by line to ensure he had entered everything correctly. Just a thought...

Good luck
holy smoke! GAVE him his C2? I surely hope the grandson appreciates what he just got.....that's a very nice gift...

My dealer placed my allocation and wouldn’t give me a copy of the Workbook Ticket for 4 days. After multiple calls and texts, I finally got it and discovered they made a mistake- they had entered a convertible instead of a coupe. Everything else was correct including the options, colors and stripes. I just caught it within the grace period and picked up the car I had ordered. I often wonder what would have happened if this mistake was discovered at delivery- would they have given me the convertible for the same price?
I ordered a Trans Am Firehawk, waited 9 months, and when it came in it was missing a bunch of options I had selected. Found out that the sales manager removed the options as his signature was on the submitted order with the options crossed out.
I'm leaning toward whomever entered the OP's order into the system messed up.
