My salesman jumped in the passenger seat and peeled my film off and started showing me all the options, not sure if I would have, probably !
There is a HD protective film over the dashboard and info screens. Both are intended for mfg/shipping and temporary. Many PDIs remove them both. Buyer never sees them. Our salesman ask it I wanted to leave them? I said no. He said poof gone.

My .02... some cars come with anti-glare screens that are similar to older / common PC monitors or flat panel sets. Using the wrong chemicals on those can muck up the coating very quickly, stick with water or mild soap and water and you're fine.
Gloss screens look better but aren't as good for reflections, every little scratch will show, and most of them still have a anti-glare coating that can be damaged by the wrong cleaners. For me, I'm not so worried about damage but will be doing a matte finish protector for added glare reduction more than anything. I've never used one before on a car screen... but all of my previous cars are older and have had matte finished infotainment screens. They will have to pull my last matte finished screens from my cold dead hands. I don't need super nice looking contrast in my car. I need to be able to see it well enough in all light conditions so I can actually use it.
Also lots of folks wear rings/watches/jewelry or will have people that do using the screen. Good idea for them too.
Just wondering if anyone has installed a screen protector on the infotainment panel. Looked at a few screen protectors for sale on Amazon but the comments are not that great!
Is it a waste of time to install a screen protector?
Thanks
I don't see the need. I have a 10 year old Fiesta that shows no indication of "wear and tear" other than fingerprints, which are easily wiped off with a dry microfiber cloth. But then again some people are much more OCD than myself.
Personally, I see no need for film protection...I keep a small microfiber towel in my center console and wipe dry...Does a great job at removing finger marks....
