Started car, put in reverse, message pops up on screen: camera with red line through it and a yellow diamond. No camera view and the camera button is inoperative. No front camera view either.
Anyone had this issue and if so, what was the resolution?
Well it was worth a shot. But leaving the door open didn't work.
Any one else have a suggestion?
For the benefit of others, leaving the door open can be challenging to do correctly. You really need to set a timer and actually give it 90 full seconds.
The next thing I would try is disconnecting the battery for 90 seconds.
The 2024 model year uses the "call end" steering wheel button to reset/reboot the Infotainment system.
Press and hold for around 10-15 seconds, it will beep, screen goes blank, and in about a minute the system reboots.
Enter your PIN, and done.
Sorry if this doesn't apply, but I don't know your year/model.
My 2023 Z06 does this randomly perhaps every 20 starts or so. After a few minutes shutdown it is back to normal. I have not been able to determine any pattern that causes this to happen. If it happens and I just shut down and restart it will still happen, but if it has been shut down for some longer time, 15,30 minutes or more it does not happen again on the next start-up.
There is a wiring harness that runs fairly close to the exhaust on the right side of the engine compartment. Mine has melted twice.
Full disclosure, I do have headers but they are ceramic coated which should keep the heat under control. The harness I'm referring to is about four inches from the header tubes. I'm guessing it's a dead zone for airflow so that's what's causing the heat retention.
Wow gotta love this forum. Have a 24 C8, went away for 10 days, came back battery dead. Irritating, but lesson learned. Have had car two months, with now 3200 miles. Jumped it, started no problem, check engine light came on but nothing obvious. Left immediately on first road trip in car. Pulled through a dealer on I-40, they cleared light and saw no problems, all cool. Pull into hotel and front camera wouldnt come on. In my usual haunts and in garage no biggie and know when to stop because you sure can’t see, but traveling at least for me, i need the camera. Found this thread, did the 90 second door thing-nope, did the hold the “call end” button-nope but that clear my sporadic problem of connecting to car-play so thanks, then did the negative battery cable disconnect for 10 minutes and bingo, got front camera back. So appreciate you guys, who wants to go to a dealer on a freaking road trip. Only thing to add-is that there is a wiring plug connected to connected to the negative battery terminal and you DO NOT have to disconnect it it for the reset. Thank you guys!!!
Just to make you feel better, my Panamera has multiple electronic glitches that come and go. Even had the entire system get a factory reload of the computer (based on directions to dealer from factory). Still get random electronic glitches on radio, cameras, cruise control, etc. (When the lease is up, bye bye) Sometimes I miss my simple Corvair. :-)
