The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
0.1% of C8s is roughly 200.
40000 * 5 * 0.001 = 200
Well most corvettes are camped out in a warm snug super protected by nuclear missile packed garages and just shined up and looked that...all those other cars are actually driven out in the world.......
And so many over the top solutions.
Chief among them... INSURANCE which 100% solves the issue (other than deductible which I consider the fee that allows me to pick it out all over again).
I also check the manufacturer of the Ghost Immobilzers and could not find installation instructions.

In 2023:
C8's (or Corvette's in general) did not make the top 20 list of stolen cars.
C8's (or Corvette's in general) did not make the bottom 20 list of stolen cars.
Anything goes on this list.
The following link will take you the HLDI report of stolen vehicle based on insurance claims.
https://www.iihs.org/media/c1cb9ff8-...heft_WT-22.pdf
The number of insured C8's between 2020-2022 was 69,658. Actual number of C8 built these years is 81,094. There are 11,436 unaccounted for. This could be for export, uninsured, etc, I do not know.
The number of 2020-2022 C8 theft claims were 207 (out of 69,658 insured), equates to 0.0029%.
I would certainly hate to be one of the 207 that had theirs stolen. Based on articles, social media and forum posts, most had their stolen because they left their keys in the car. One instance where it was stolen from valet. There was an instance where the parked and came back out the car was gone. And one incident where the thieves butchered the car completely when they stole it. one on Turo. But most represent a crime of opportunity, and not a targeted theft. So what can we learn?
Don't leave the keys in the car unattended.
Use a faraday box when storing your keys at home.
Try not to valet the car.
Spring for the Onstar security package ($29.99/mo?) - The most experienced thieves aren't total idiots. They will target GM vehicles in which the GPS can be easily removed. I hear that these can be removed easily in GM trucks, Maybe it's more of an inconvenience on the C8?
IMO, I am not particularly worried about theft due to the low take rate. If anything, I worry more about vandalism during these times.
Or trash the interior and exterior out of anger at thwarted plans, and you're left with a claim far more troublesome than "Car was stolen? Here's a check."
except when there isn't another exact car out there a check will replace.....
