What noise specifically are you referring to? Valve noise? Exhaust noise? Something else? Its an engine, it makes noise....

there’s been allot of talk on the forum about engine noise coming from the back. Apparently some people have it and some don’t. Many refer to it the a sewing machine sound. I know I’ve heard allot of feedback about very loud Z06 engines. But I’m refering the the Stingray coupe or the convertible. Some people have even put in insulation to help keep it down. I was just curious it’s more in the CHT or the coupe. In case you haven’t been reading some of the other threads here’s an example. Quote “

In case you haven’t been reading other threads this is an example from one forum member regarding this noise I’m referring to.
“It is a common complaint and it is actually the direct injection pump, not the injectors. The HTCs are quieter than the coupes. I don't know how much additional insulation will help”

My wife hears it, but I don’t. I have hearing loss and ringing in my ears from the work I did. Not sure if that would explain why some hear it and some don’t. 🤔🤔
I would think every C8 makes the same amount of injector noise.

I watch a video of two youtubers checking out each other’s cars. Both were coupes. Before they started one complained about the injector noise and the other dismissed it as nothing. After the test drives they both agreed that one of the cars had more noise than the other.

So basically this issue comes down to a combination of the individual drivers hearing and the individual cars noise level. Which is why we can’t get a definitive answer on the issue.

I have a coupe and I hear the engine noise when driving normally. I feel it's natural of the car with the engine being right behind us.

Unless you get somebody with data, that records the Decibel readings in each car (coupe vs htc), every other opinion is useless information. By all the comments over many threads, there is obviously a noise you hear in both cars. Who cares if 1 is slightly louder than the other.(it's irrelevant since all people don't hear at the same level either)....I think we can all agree that there is a noise, which is not surprising, it's an engine!!! Not sure how long we can beat a dead horse.....

I hear it in mine, the Vette tech does not. We both agreed that it is under warranty if it ends up coming apart so I continue to drive it.

I am pretty confident, after ~5000 miles, that it is nothing abnormal as it has not changed in pitch or tone, and nothing has fallen apart or blown up.

22 Non-Z51 Coupe

At first, the injector/pump sewing machine noise was very pronounced. It reminded me a little of the loud injectors from my tuned diesel 335.

After a few months of ownership, I found I noticed it less and less - just one of those things you get used to.

These days, I don't hear it at all. Mostly because my car has sitting at the dealership waiting on transmission parts for about 3 weeks.

No dead horse. Still alive and kicking. If a person is making a decision which model to buy depending on an obnoxious noise that is very irritating It would make a different which model to would buy !

Everybody has it. Some no longer have the hearing to notice it.

It's less noticeable on the HTC because the engine is more completely isolated from the cabin. On the coupe the noise comes through the glass window.
