Yeah, it's really easy to do. I never did it but I think I came close once.

You can come up with all the scenarios you want, however when life-safety is involved there' no good excuses. It takes 5 minutes or less to install a C8 targa top. Unless your wife is telling you the house is on fire, the above doesn't hold water.

Yeah, a lot depends on how long you expect to keep the car. If you're only going to keep it 2-3, 4-5 maybe, then it's less of a concern. My last car I had 12 years. I hope to have the C8 at least as long. Plus I like seeing the engine set up through the back. The whole mid-engine thing is what really spiked my interest in the car in the first place.

Why does this topic constantly get debated? No one is ever convinced by another, but still many chime in with with the same arguments for why theirs is better. Just enjoy what you have. Both are great.

Then why buy or invest in anything? Shoes? Refrigerator? Lawn mower? Wife? Children?

Anything worth anything requires maintenance and upkeep.

Yes HTC is very slick looking! However, the see thru glass of the coupe is DA BOMB which is why many HTC owners want that bogus see thru when trunk is opened Now if they can make the glass top for the HTC . That would be check mate!

The novelty of seeing a fake plastic intake escapes me....maybe with a Z06 but who cares with a Stingray. Along with the HTC looking more exotic, not having to keep the engine bay area clean due to its exposure to the elements is a bonus!

That's exactly my point! IMO, there's already enough bells & whistles, high tech, intense electrical etc going on with the C8 without adding the complexity of the retractable roof. That's just one of the reason I went with the C8 coupe twice when the vast majority of the Corvettes I've owned have been convertibles.

They do! Falcon Design HTC Window And, you don't open the trunk to see the HTC clear covers, that would be the tonneau cover.

So see through glass to see the engine for a coupe is "da bomb" but see through glass to see the engine for an HTC is "bogus"?

Your logic seems sound, after all, look at all the disaster stories of people with failed HTC mechanisms…oh wait, there aren’t many.

Seriously, after 5 years and probably 50k HTCs, how often do you hear of HTC failures?

Hopefully I didn’t just jinx myself, because in 6 weeks and 2,741 miles, my top is down 90 percent of the time.

Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love the engine view of a coupe, but that’s just a look. HTC is a feeling, and it’s just one button away.

If I was afraid of HTC simply because of its complexity or potential or perceived future problems, hell, that logic would have warned me away from a C8 altogether. I’d be more concerned about 37 onboard computers or the DCT.

Agreed that a targa is more simple, but so is an ‘83 Corolla.

Both great choices, but for me the HTC was love at first site, I had to have one and my 23 HTC is just amazing looking to me.
